So yesterday I went for my NST like I do every week (I get them done because I can hardly feel the baby move at all because of my anterior placenta and therefor they do them as a precaution because I wouldn't know if something was wrong.) when I was on the monitor the baby kept having heart decels. Usually when I would have a contraction. They sent me up to L&D to get monitored for 4 hours.... While up there the baby's heart rate was great! No more decelerations or anything out of the ordinary with baby. I however was having more frequent braxton hicks than before. They were about a minute to a minute and a half long and coming every 2 and a half to 3 minutes. They checked my cervix and I was 25% effaced. Station -3 with no dilation. So they sent me home. They said they were not worried about the contractions because they were not making any cervical change. I'm still having them today although not as close together. Is there a chance this could turn into labor? Or if something similar happens again could that Turn into labor? The drs just seemed so nonchalant about it causing labor and kept saying baby would be fine if she came now. And kept saying they wouldn't stop labor if it started. I'm only 35 weeks and really don't want her here now. She's not ready! I appreciate any advice. Thanks.

I don't want to scare you or anything, but from what I have read, BH can turn into real labor. That's partially why they are called warm up contractions. If they start getting more painful or frequent again, don't hesitate to call someone or go in.

It's much better to get checked than to leave it be.

Most likely, you will be fine and your little girl will stay put. Just in case she doesn't though, you will be wanting those steroid shots to prepare her lungs.

Take care hunny. :hugs: <3

I don't know at 35 weeks and not dial acted but my second labour started with very frequent bh. Was 40+6 and had a sweep the day before at which I was 2-3cm. But all day I had bh... Timed them late afternoon and they were 4 minute apart lasting a minute. At 7pm they suddenly became painful contractions and he was born just after 11pm.
No idea if this is the same for you plus I was overdue and already dilated. Maybe if they increase again or feel more intense go back. Best to get checked than worry at home. Baby born at 35 weeks is very likely to be absolutely fine but you certainly want to be at a hospital and not having it at home! Good luck x

Often it seems like BH turns into real labor for sure.

It can quite literally take weeks to go from 0 dilation to 1 or 2 cm, and to go from 25% to 100% effaced, so if the contractions aren't having any impact on dilation, there is really nothing particularly useful they can do. The NSTs will continue to be very useful for you going forward to keep checking heart decels and contractions, so that should help you have a little bit more peace of mind.
