I've been pretty stressed (especially today) and had a pretty big cry, like the uncontrollable kind. I haven't felt baby move much since it happened. Should I be concerned?

Crying doesn't effect baby but if your stressed alot during pregnancy
Your baby could be born at a low birth weight or you can go into pre term labor. Also some studies show behavior problems in the child later in years. By all means de stress for yours and you're baby's sake.

Thanks, I need help de stressing :(. Baby has been moving so I feel better about that, but today has been a stressful day.

I'm so sorry you've been stressed, is there anyone you can talk to ? A counceler or therapist?

I had a 20minute panic/anxiety attack for the first time in my life on Monday. Cried uncontrollably and couldn't stop, breathing was erratic, and I was trembling all over. Managed To calm down after I realised what was happening, but it was kinda scary!

My dh and I have not been speaking To each other recently as he is being an ass and I think the not talking To each other has stressed me out. I don't even think he knows I had a panic attack on Monday! And if he does know then he's an even bigger ass! So I packed up my things and went To my mums. We still haven't said a word To each other.

Well I feel less stressed than before and it's nice being at my mums and not having To worry about laundry or cooking etc. It's nice To be taken care of for a change! Not that dh hasn't been making an effort before- he has gone into this childish mood you would think he was the one who's pregnant honestly! I'd love To just smack him in the head sometimes lol.

If u know what is stressing u out maybe it's best To just remove yourself from it and have some time To yourself To just relax and be able To talk To someone u feel comfortable with. Where u can vent and just let go. U can even vent right here! Sometimes we just need an outlet for the stress, and the panic attack that day coupled with the hormones just gave me a serious wake up call of how I really need To take care of myself mentally as well as physically while pregnant.

I do hope u feel better:flower: Also I don't think Baby will be affected if u get emotional. But if u are under constant stress throughout the day I think that may have a slight effect.

Def try to reduce stress, for the reasons mentioned. But crying in itself doesn't affect baby. Stress only has effects on baby if it's long term I think.
I also had a falling out with OH and took a week apart from him and thankfully things have settled again. Hormones are crazy lol

I have been under a lot of stress lately as well, and very emotional.

While I think of course it is important to try to reduce stress as much as possible, sometimes these things are out of our control and we are human after all.

The last thing we need during difficult times is to feel guilty for reacting normally to them. I think the guilt just makes things worse.

Of course i'm not disagreeing that you should try to reduce your stress... I think everyone should.

But mother nature is no fool. Pregnancy in and of itself is stressful. Don't expect yourself to not be stressed, to not get upset, etc. In fact, you're likely to be MORE stressed and more frequently get upset than when you're not pregnant. Hormones are a very real thing.

The studies involving low birth rate are about constant life-altering stress, such as the death of a spouse, sibling, best friend etc. Something that really brings your entire life down for the majority of the ongoing pregnancy. They are not about having rough days, weeks or even a bad month or so!!

That being said, I am a big advocate of meditation in general, and especially during pregnancy, as it can help you de stress.

But I'm also a believer that worrying about being too stressed, just makes you more stressed!!! And again, mother nature is not stupid. Pregnancy is a physical stress on your body and a hormonal stress on your emotions. This would not be the case if it was detrimental to our pregnancies.

Crying and being upset will not hurt your baby. Actually sometimes crying can be a great stress reliever!!!! I like to shower during/after a good cry. The running water can be peaceful, and stepping out of the water all clean tends to make the cry more therapeutic and naturally puts me in the mindset of leaving the bad parts behind me and walking out refreshed.

I completely agree with this. Our bodies are made to handle stress and daily life worries. I lost my father 3 months ago and my bubba is doing just fine. Hope you're ok and have someone to talk to x
