Can first morning urine effect ovulation tests?

Hi ladies I'm on cd 11 second Clomid cycle one 109 mg I've just done an ovulation test and it had a very dark like definitely positive no denying that, once I'd done it I read on the packet it says thy din reccomebt testing with first morning urine as it can give a false positive. Shall I jus disregard this test and do another tonight? Last month I ovulated day 14/15 on 50mg Clomid and had really bad ovulation pains. I just panicking as me and oh haven't baby dance at all this cycle yet as I've been Ill. Think itll have to be every night til I've ovulated now!! Lol x

I have read many times that it's best not to use morning urine. Most opks suggest testing time between 10am and 3 pm.

I do mine in the mornings, but my doc said the best time is after lunch!

I would just disregard that test and test again this afternoon. If it is still positive I would try to get some BDing in.

The only reason it says don't use first morning urine is because the hormone is processed later in the morning and therefore won't show up, unless you had the surge the day before or later in the day before. It's not that it's a false positive, its just that you're at a better chance of catching the surge.

Thanks ladies I googled it and had a variety of answers. Goin to baby dance tonight just incase, did another test tonight and it was negative and I haven't had any other ovulation symptoms. Going by last months cycle I should ovulate Sunday/Monday so goin to BD ever say until Tuesday at least. My OH won't know what's hit him! Lol x x

First morning urine has nothing to do with the reason you shouldn't test in the AM. You should wait to test until afternoon because many women get their LH surge in the morning, but it will not show up the urine until afternoon, so you are likely to miss your LH surge if you always test very first thing in the AM.
