I am 13w5d... my baby's heart rate is consistently 156-160. My mom immediately said girl. Has anyone followed this old wives tale? The highest it's been was 168, and lowest was 148. Thanks!
I have 4 kiddos pregnant with our 5th and my first two followed the heart rate theory, but my last two were totally opposite! all just for fun for me it was 50/50
All 3 of mine were always in the 160s. 2 girls and then my son. It's a fun theory but not very accurate. There was an article I read where one lady with b/g twins studied their heartrates while being monitored in the hospital. She totally disproved the theory lol
My second sons heart rate was 173 at my 10 week scan. I read somewhere that heart rates are higher at the beginning of pregnancy and slow down as pregnancy progresses. My water broke at 32 weeks and I had to stay in the hospital for 4 days before he was born and they monitored his heart rate frequently. It was always in the 150-165 range.
For me strangely it was slightly different, I could hear the difference in the hearts the boys had a deeper booming sound including the last who I was convinced was a girl until I saw his heart on my 20 week scan
That theory never worked for me lol. My girls were consistently between 140-150 bpm. Only a couple times did they ever get over 150 bpm. My little boy on the other hand was 180 bpm at our first ultrasound at almost 9 weeks. I was convinced he was a girl from that theory. His heart rate always ran high my entire pregnancy. This time baby's heartbeat was 168 bpm at my first scan at 7 weeks (which if you look at average heart rate at 7 weeks that is high) and we are hopeful for another boy.
