I am 35 (36 in Oct) I have one child from a previous marriage that is 12. I was on depo since he was born off and on until last June 2011. In Jan 2012 I took provera to bring on af and then clomid. Since then I have o'ed every month and taken 4 rounds of clomid with 2 natural cycles. I feel like I cant go thorugh this anymore. I mean 6 cycles of confirmed O and timed BD and NOTHING. Sorry I just needed to vent

My life:
hoping for AF
waiting on O (opk crazy)
bd bd bd (should I try this or that blabla)
tww of hell (when to test, ahh 5dpo isnt too early, is it?)
going blind looking at hpt's hoping to see a faint line
DISAPPOINTMENT
repeat

Ah I know how frustrating it is waiting for cycle after cycle, but 6 months really isn't that long (I know it feels like it). Try not to stress yourself over it too much as stress really doesn't help things. Hopefully next month will be it for you. Good luck xx

I have looked on Fertility Friend charts and some have waited 14 years for a positive pregnancy test. I have 15 months charted on there with no bfp yet but I am older than you. Then there are women who are 43 and tried for 3 months and got pregnant with no help or meds at all. It just depends. Keep trying!

Thanks for all the encouragement you all but I think everyone has there tolerance for all this stress. Im not saying I wont keep trying but lately I find myself more low than high :(
It has been 6 cycles but 7 months of clomid side effects, ultrasounds to check for folicles, 21 day blood draw and not to mention all the $$ involved in dr visits, clomid,pre-seed, gas to dr ( 1hr away) opks and hpt's all for ----- so far. Its just disheartening after a while. Its like you can put everything you have into it but that dosent matter.

I had my first son at 36 and it took about 2 years. We did not use clomid; just two years of naturally trying.

It took 4 years of trying to get my second son.

Both conceptions took place when we were taking a bit of a break from the stress of calendars, etc.

Sometimes I think the stress of trying very much affects both the man and the woman. That's why there's some truth to all the anecdotal "pregnacny on vacation" stories.

I agree 100% with that but my DH is in his mid 50's and time isnt exactly on our side so it is hard for me to try and put it on hold.

My DH and I have been trying since our DS was born and he's now 14  We also have a 16 DD and I'm 37. I guess you just learn to live with TTC  I get on with things but concentrate on TTC around O time and I do like coming on BNB to chat with other ladies but 6 months really isn't that long...you could think about being a bit more aggressive like IUI or IVF but there are no guarantees with that trust me :) Good Luck!!

I'm totally with you. This is what my months are like too. However, I've never been pregnant, so it really feels like something that happens to other people.

Considering IUI next month, but it would royally suck if that didn't work.

Okay, good venting. I'm going to try to go back to being semi-hopeful :)

Woe! Holy crap! I see a line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do to but am sceptical because I had a bfn this morning. I am really scared to get my hopes up but I am going after work for a frer

Maybe you're thinking it's an evap line? I don't have much experience with evap lines...
Do the frer tonight!

Yes an evap is what I am affraid of. I have had a couple but nothing like this and it showed up in the time limit too.

Sorry if this is a totally obvious question but if your DH is in mid-50s, what are the chances that his sperm count has diminished/that he has health issues affecting conception?

yeah it does make you go a bit  huh. There are days I seriously think I`m going a little nutso.

I won`t tell you to 'relax it will happen' because when I am told that a LOT and I get really annoyed. But there is some truth to it... You`re still young, try to keep positive *hugs*
