So, I'm seeing lots of posts in here about feeling baby move. I'm 16 weeks and have felt nothing (that I know of). It makes me worried and I want to feel something soon! I know I feel things - but it's more like light cramps or pulling sometimes - but I don't think these are "flutters".

Can someone really describe what they feel like? I want to know! Thanks!!

It's not unusual to not feel anything by 16 weeks. I didn't feel DS until I was about 18 weeks, and I know some ladies didn't feel theirs until 22-24 weeks.
To me flutters feel like gas bubbles :) The only reason I can tell they aren't at first is that it's almost always in the same location. I started feeling #2 early on, and always felt bubbles about an inch or two below my belly button.

To me they feel like tiny fingers tickling my belly from the inside.

Kinda like gas bubbles or butterflies in your stomach but lower, usually toward the center of you lower abdomen. Gas tends to stay to the side once the uterus begins to grow. (at least in me)

It's completely normal to not feel anything at 16 weeks. "Flutters" feels differently for everyone. For me, they felt like someone gently pushing against the inside of my stomach. Sometimes it felt kind of like pulling. I actually thought it was kind of an uncomfortable feeling at first.

Thanks, ladies! I'm going to pay attention for some tickling or the feeling of butterflies in the coming weeks. I can't wait!

This is what I feel sometimes. I can't tell if it's my uterus growing/stretching or baby movements! Hm.....

Take your middle finger curl it back towards your hand and wedge it behind your thumb. Flick your other arm gently and this is exactly how my flickering felt earlier in my pregnancy :) Not bubbles like most people tell you but the occasional flick in my abdomen. You will soon notice whatever it feels like for you soon, every woman is different

I have been feeling my baby roll around for a little over a week now. It's definitely different from gas for me. It's stronger than flutters/gas.For me, it's like the previous post stated, it started with flickers, now feels like rolls and kicks.

Have you ever stuck your hand in a fish tank and gotten bumped by a fish? That's what flutters felt like for me. Hubby, when he first felt baby from the outside, agreed it felt similar (the two were about 9 weeks apart).

To me it always felt like when you have a bug crawling on you but from the inside. And every once in a while I would get a few bumps which felt like a little poke on the inside.

To me it's like little bubbles popping, other times it's clear that baby is punching and kicking you from the inside. It's one of those feelings that's hard to describe, but one of the best feelings

Mine felt like when u get a muscle spasm, I first thought it was gas bubbles but they have been happening in the same place for about a week now and put my hand there earloer and could slightly feel it on the outside too

I hope I start to feel our little girl move soon. I am 21 weeks, and doc said I should be feeling her soon! :)

I feel little rolls occasionally when I'm lying down but never felt a 'flutter' with my last one (felt little pokes from about 16 weeks) and with this one I have anterior placenta so can only feel when she or he rolls!

Thanks for all the replies, ladies! I know I've been feeling something but I still can't figure out if it's baby moving or not. I haven't felt anything that feels like "butterlies," but I have felt what feels like pressure or pokes. I know I'm still early, though..my doctor said I should feel something closer to 20 weeks. Can't wait!

I don't feel the butterflies either that's why I wasn't sure mine feels like pokes or popping or twitching. If it's regular and in the same spot I'd say it's baby

While falling asleep last night, I was lying on my right side. I felt a sort of "bump" on the left side of my belly. Was it a kick?! I guess we'll see!

With DS, I didn't feel anything until 22-24 weeks. This time I have had no real flutters, but definite kicks.

My very first movements felt more like muscle twitches than anything and kind of like gas but not exactly, a constant pressure type of feeling that would sometimes rock back and forth.

Now it's more like a pp said, it feels like a little fish moving around thumping against different parts of my bump. I'm 19 weeks and haven't felt a solid kick yet, but lots of movement now!

I asked my sister how they feel for her (she's prego with #2). She explained it as bubbles or popcorn popping beneath the belly, and they are usually lower. I guess mine felt more like a muscle twitch. Just still not sure what it was! She also said she didn't feel her baby move until about 24-25 weeks (she is 34 weeks now), but she felt #1 at 20 weeks.
