i jst wondered if anyone knows if its possible to discover babys position with my doppler. Im 35 weeks and on wednesday was told my baby was breech, Im trying to discover wheather he has or hasnt moved-where would i pick the heartbeat up if he was now heads down?
are they any other ways to work out what position they are in?
would be interesting to find out what position everyones baby is in and how if feels bump-wise? also is it obvious to you if your baby changes position?
thankyou x x x

I can't say for sure, but I don't think so. The reason I don't think so is my Dr. uses a doppler every time I go and this past app't she was trying to use her hands to feel what position the baby was in and said she couldn't tell and would do an ultrasound next app't. I would think if she could tell with a doppler then that wouldn't have been necessary.

i think if your baby is head down the heart beat is under your belly button and if the baby is head up the heart beat is above your belly button, i am not sure how true this is but it was on a baby program i watched the other day lol xx

No, my LO is breech and hb is found on doppler still very low.

I know LO is breech as its in exact same position (stuck!) as my first was.

I can feel the bum stuck down low - a lump sticks out just to the the left side and I feel the head moving around up at my chest.

I certainly would know if LO moves position!!! But that is only because my first was the same, and this LO has been in the same position all along!:flower:

my midwife used to pick heatbeat up low down to the left, now he is breech she is picking the heartbeat up on the right hand side inline with my belly button. i was hoping other people might say this too as i am picking it up low down and to the left when i do it at home so was hoping it meant he had moved back x

Where your babies kicky bits are is probably the best indication. Legs are much kickier than hands so if your kicks are high then baby is probably head down.

Another thing is if baby is head down you may be able to feel the hardness and roundness of thier head through your vagina wall. Buttocks are more squishy so don't feel any different, but head is hard and round and if baby is low enough down can be felt through the vagina. Obviously don't poke around too much and too hard.

the doppler position thing is a myth. my baby was breech, and is now definitely ceph after having a scan and the hb has been above my belly button, all the way through.

try belly mapping. its pretty accurate. www.spinningbabies.com

Good link, maman - that looks really interesting! I want to try it just to see what I can tell. :haha: I'm pretty sure he's head down, but I want to see if that's what a 'map' of him would say. :D

i had like 6 different medics tell me baby was breech and i did think he felt breech and when i belly mapped it said ceph, but i doubted myself and went with what i was beign told, till he showed up ceph on the scan! lol i really think this works. you can even take a day or so to keep adding to it to get it more accurate.
