Hello, iv just posted this in the 3rd tri section, but thought I may get a response in here too..

Iv just had a letter through with my date for my planned section.

I have been recommended a section after a horrific labour last time that resulted in an emergency section.

My consultant has said they can do this at 39weeks as they don't want me to go into labour naturally. (I had DD at 39+1)

So I get my date through and its at 39+5????
Can I request moving it a few days earlier or do I just get what Im given.

Im normally very easy going and don't want to sound like a diva but can you move your date, even a couple of days would put my mind at rest.
Thanks in advance!
xxx

It all depends on the days the hospital perform c-sections. There is no harm in asking your doctor though.

The doctor picked my date and will this time, too. I don't get a choice on date.

Not unless your private patient paying for treatment, I was told what date to come in by consultant

In my hospital the do it on the weekends, i had mine on a friday. i had no say

My dr said no earlier than 39 weeks. He originally scheduled me for wed June 26, but agreed to do it Sunday since that's my 39th week, :) resting up now! Good luck!

we asked for a set date but the doc could only do the day after.

My first caesarean was an emergency. My second was at 38+2 days and my third at 38 weeks exactly. The hospital wanted to do them both at 39 weeks, but I pushed for earlier x
