Can you take ducolax whilst bf?

Hiya,

I'm badly constipated and have been on lactalose to no avail.

I drink lots if water, eat loads of veg / fruit and high fibre foods.

I'm in need of something to get my bowels moving, can I take ducilax?

I had a bowel obstruction coming out of the hospital, not pleasant! It took 6 weeks to clear up too, I was on the verge of having to get surgery.

This is what I was told I could take, from my OB/hospital staff/and LO's pediatrician:

Miralax
Colace
Peri-colace
Glycerin suppositories
You can use saline enemas as well

Saline based laxatives are the best while breastfeeding. I was told to avoid dulcolax, though not sure why. Make sure you drink loads of water when you use laxatives as well. With saline laxatives it makes your bowels retain/attract water to help get rid of everything.
