I can't get to the doctors as weekend/bank holiday etc and as usual these problems arise when places are shut!

TMI but my bits are a bit itchy and smell a bit. Not sure if it's thrush or bv but can i use the canesten cream in the meantime? I've already used it twice because i didn't want to be having to itch my bits at work :haha:

Ive been given something similar to canesten. I am pretty sure its ok to use

If you look into this it always says do not use while pregnant without docs consent.
When I had it a few weeks ago my doc prescribed caniston but the pessary irritated my cervix and I bled. It killed!!

Try phoning your doc and speak over phone

I asked the pharmacist and they said the cream is perfectly safe, you can use the pessaries with care (although when i tried it was really uncomfortable and the following morning hadn't really dissolved much and just fell out when i went for a wee), you can't use the oral tablet though x

I was told under absolute no circumstances to use the pessary, just the cream? Hmmm learn something new every day!

ETA: just read, the pessary is ok, just dont use the applicators

Yeah Sandi, I was prescribed it from my consultant, she wouldnt give me it if it wasnt ok to use?
Im just a little baffled as to use the applicator or not. Just read a few other threads about Clotrimozole-what I have been prescribed and some have said, use the applicator, some have said dont?! xx

Why not phone NHS direct they are normally pretty good with these things and will phone you back quite quickly if they need to research the answer. Good luck.

it is safe to use the cream in pregnancy.... but I don't recommend it unless you're sure it is yeast as if the infection/irritation is from another source you may just be making the matter worse.

Are there any after hours or weekend walk in clinics you can go to????

my doctor prescribed me 3 weeks ago just the cream only and the 2% strength one.

SK I think the no applicator rule is there so you dont, tamper with anything inside ykwim? x

Oh, found this https://www.babyandbump.com/pregnan...5-9-weeks-used-thrush-applicator-worried.html

Thanks hun.

Normally if i use the cream it goes away. The only time i've needed the pessary was when i got thrush for the first time and didn't really notice early signs. Good to know though

I'll got the docs on Tuesday just to check it's not bv or anything else.

You'd had to do something serious with the applicator to cause trauma
