Landon Samuel flows better and doesn't have the double L sound like SamueL Landon clashes a bit.

Personally - I don't think it matters which one sounds better, I think what matters most is which do you want your son's name to be? They are very different names - Samuel being old fashioned and traditional... and Landon being trendy/modern. I think it depends which you prefer.

I love both names - Sam & Landon have both been on my list of fav names at one point. I'm not a fan of Samuel though. I know a little boy named Sam, and that's what is on the birth certificate.

My maiden name was Jackson, so we wanted to name him Samuel Jackson XXXX. That's the very reason why we didn't use Jackson, and some friends still call him that. Haha.

This. I love Sam, but Samuel isn't my favorite either. But Landon has an entirely different vibe. We are naming him after my mother whose name is Samantha. My husband picked Landon and I really like it. The struggle is when I call him Sam I like it. Samuel not so much. But Landon Samuel isn't exactly what I was going for either.

Also, I'm pretty much the minority in calling him Sam, everyone else calls him Samuel. I'm not sure if I like that. Ugh...
