Hi everyone!:flower:

Up until last week our LO was taking bottles great, every 3 hours like clockwork, if he cried it was either wind, hunger or nappy then he'd be a happy little thing again. Since last he will take 2 oz or so of a bottle, get a couple of burps up and then cry  He's won't take the rest of his bottle and will then be unsettled right through until his next bottle. It's like he clenches his little belly and grunts/cries :nope: Bottles can take up to an hour and a half, and when he's feeding every 3 hrs it's no time until his next bottle and the whole thing starts again! Tried infacol for wind, didn't do much but then again he is getting his burps up. Have been trying colief since Thursday but last night was his worst night yet, screamed after each bottle! Suppose I'm just wondering if this sounds familiar to anyone or is it just a phase we need to wait out? Also, with the colief drops, if it is not the lactose in the milk will it be upsetting him more being on the drops unneccessarily?

Sorry for the long post!!

Infacol takes a few doses and a day or 2 to actually work. It works in the lower intestines so it has to move through to do anything. Do you think you LO needs a faster flow bottle? Is he getting tired out and they is why he is crying? Try making the hole a little larger in a nipple and see if that helps. Not too large or it will come out too fast! Or have you tried different bottles? They make ones that are for colic too.

It sounds like silent reflux Hun,this is exactly how Lola started off and I started dreading feeding times as she would scream and I couldn't lay her back down and I was petrified she wasnt eating enough.she's on gaviscon infant now and it's helped alot but we still have alot of times when after she's had a burp she won't lay back down so we give her a little break and give her the rest in her bouncy chair and she's fine and eats the lot xx

Yep switched him over to faster flow teats on weds and he's on the anti colic bottles. He had the infacol with each feed for 4 days, stopped it when he went on to the colief as didn't want to be giving him too many drops. Suppose we'll have to wait it out and just hope he's only having a few off days!

Yup I'm starting to dread bottle times as sometimes he's only just settled down! Could be that alright, when I lay him down after his bottle it's like he's trying his best to sleep but there's a lil pain that keeps waking him up, he'll whimper and clench up so I'll end up taking him up and he'll sleep fine lying on my chest, maybe coz he's nearly upright? Just means he's constantly attached to me and I get nothing done!

Just a thought too, thrush can cause them to be unsettled during a feed and he could b clenching because he is still hungry but his mouth hurts to eat. Can you check for white spots in his mouth? Wait until an hour or so after he eats b/c he will have a white film from the formula. If you can check his throat too, with reflux sometimes they get red, irritated throat. it is hard to say it could be a lot of things! Poor little guy.
