Can't stand up for too long? Sweating and dizzy

I also forgot to mention I get really dizzy and my heartbeat seems to go crazy and speed up A lot when I'm standing for any period of time, as I said in my last post 5 min is my max:( I'm scared to try for longer bc I don't want to pass out.

This is a very old thread, you may want to start a new one to see if anyone around is experiencing this currently.

Hope you get some relief soon, I had low blood pressure and increased my salt intake and it helped a bit.

Ok I'll try, I'm more looking for answers from people who have already gone through this, will it go away once the baby is born and has it happened to the same people in subsequent pregnancies? I don't think I could go through this again with a toddler, I can hardly take care of myself and anything around the house at this point. I'd need a live in helper:(

I had this happen to me a lot, it started around 18 weeks. Not even 2 minutes and I'd start to feel super light headed and had to sit before I fainted. I couldn't even stand long enough to do my makeup or comb my hair in the mirror, I had to bring a mirror and sit on the bed!

I was told it is just because the weight of the baby is pressing on the artery which is cutting off or slowing the blood flow to your head. My doctor said if I walk around a bit or move positions it should help a little, but I just had to sit down for a minute or two and then I'd be okay to stand for another 2 minutes, then repeat. It definitely will go away after you have the baby. It's just another fun pregnancy thing we have to deal with! Just make sure you are always staying very hydrated and eating a lot throughout the day.

One of my doctors suspected that but the others don't seem to have a clue. I have to stand for 15 minutes in my best friends wedding in 2 weeks where I'm Matron of Honor. I have kind of hinted to her what is going on and that I can't stand for more than 3-5 minutes but I don't know if she really understands how serious it is. If I wait the whole 5 I'm super panicky and very lightheaded. Did you already deliver?

Yeah,I get these episode of feeling a lot lately. that's because my blood pressure gets low.

I know exactly how you feel. This is the worst I've ever felt in my whole life. I'm such a fit and healthy person and used to training in the gym a lot. So I'm finding it very hard to accept how I'm feeling at the moment. I've been really ill from 4 weeks to be hones but mostly nausea but now at 13 weeks I have a new set of symptoms again on top of the nausea. I can't even stand up without feeling like I'm going to just collapse. Even sitting down is not enough sometimes and need to lie down, this is not a nice feeling at work. I begin to feel faint after a few minutes of standing then my eyes go funny and everything becomes brighter and harder to focus on. It's a very strange feeling and I honestly feel like it's more serious than just being pregnant. It feels like I'm dying. Driving is difficult as I don't feel safe as my eyes are even funny then. I hope this goes in the next few weeks, if not I'm not sure how I'll cope. Just feel like crying :-((((((
