Anyone having a hard time not drinking coffee, tea or soda pop? I don't have sodas very often but still drink them too much! I have at least a half cup of coffee with milk and sugar in the mornings. I guess it is too much of my morning routine. I try to drink water with all my meals and usually do a good job. But sometimes....I just drink way too much caffeine. :coffee: <~~~ mmmmm

I know, it's hard - Have you tried Decaf coffee? It still gives you the taste...just cuts out the caffeine?

I have to admit that I drink fizzy pop and coffee when I want to.....after 3 years of TTC and stuff, I kinda give up on the "I'm not eating/drinking x til I have a baby" BUT I don't drink coffee very often anyway, maybe once or twice a month and I usually drink water or juice.....though these past few weeks I've been going through a fair bit of bitter lemon, I've become obsessed with the stuff....I go through phases where I just can't get enough of summit and this time it's bitter lemon, ironic really cause I used to screw my face up at it once over....DH reckons it's that adult taste thing

I have stopped having normal coffe and started drinking Decaff ones. It needs a while until u get used to it, and you actually do and start liking it.

I have stopped drinking diet soda. I am a diet coke addict. I stopped it bec first it makes me feel huge full of gas, and second I dont think its good while TTC. I know it's ok to have it with moderation, but I prefered just dropping it for good.

I am not much a coffee fan, but at work I do drink in the morning my Nescafe. In my last TTC process, I started drinking green tea, it's good for TTC and it's tastes ok.

Try making some changes if you dont feel ok with them.
Good luck!

Yeah I am totally addicted to soda esp ones with caffeine in them...I'm trying to do better (had two big glasses of water with brunch today instead of coffee or Coke) but I admit i bought a bottle of my beloved Coca Cola for one last hurrah before I cut off completely (or at least down to one single 8 oz. or less glass a day or every other...old habits die hard!!) after New Years lol...so you aren't alone!

Repeat after me...."Many women snort crack and later discover that they are pregnant". A half a cup of coffee every day and a diet coke at lunch are not affecting your fertility. I agree, it's always wise to cut out as much as possible....but don't beat yourself up over your caffeine intake. TTC is difficult enough as it is...

I could try decaf but it is hard since my DH loves coffee. I have had decaf and it does taste different but more like regular when you add milk/sugar. I LOVE green tea...but that has caffeine in it too...but it is healthy for you, with antioxidants. I drink it every now and then, especially when fighting a cold. I just always want caffeine, chocolate is my weakness..mmmm chocolate!!! I have been just drinking bottled waters and juice at home, but here and there I have a soda or starbucks coffee...still isn't good when you are trying to get your body prepped for ttc.

i agree with capitalchick....i love my diet soda :)

i have to say i love fizzy drinks and i havent stopped drinking them, i was drinking them when ttc and i'm still drinking them now i'm preganant, when i was ttc i didnt change anything about what i drink or eat, now i'm preganant i do eat more healthly but on the other hand you do really crave naughty foods more and if your craving them you have to eat them, i wouldnt worry 2 much i'd start thinking about changing once you know your preganant

Thats so funny because a few months ago i was a caffine addict!. I had at least 10 cups of coffee per day! if i never got my coffee i got very crabby but for some strange reason i suddenly just stopped drinking it which is very weird. The thought of coffee just makes me feel real sick!. I drink lots of tea now. It seems to keep me calm. lol

I used to drink more soda and coffee than I do now. I started laying off the pop when it was making me feel sick. I also now drink 1/2 shot of caffiene coffee from starbucks. I find it still gives me the zing I'm looking for without as much caffiene. My main problem with drinking caffiene is I tend to drink it then get full and not eat enough healthy food to counteract. I think as long as you are eating healthy, drinking water, and your blood pressure isn't through the roof then drinking coffee is fine with TTC. It all depends how it affects your body and everyone is different. I must admit I just went on a caffiene binge when AF showed up and now I feel utterly craptastic. I guess my body doesn't miss all that caffiene as much as I thought! :-D

coffee does make you sick if you have too much. And I have had a cup of coffee instead of eating food for dinner many of times...but not recently.
