Can't wait any longer! (gender)

We have another 2 weeks and 3 days before we find out if we're team blue or pink (hopefully)

I know it's not that far away but I can't wait any longer. Is it possible to find out this early in a 3/4D ultrasound? OH wants to wait but I'm ready to start throwing our money at people!

I had a NT scan at 13w3d and I am almost positive it is a boy since the baby was not shy, but she didn't want to guess but leaned towards agreeing with me!

At 15 weeks, you can really tell more. There is either something there or its tucked by then! You should be good to go from here on out.

I have two weeks to wait after tomorrow to get back my gentic bloods and we will know gender, otherwise I want to confrim with my anatomy scan mid Sept before I go shopping!

OH and most places that do elective scans want you to wait till at least 16 weeks to have a better view of the goods!

I had a gender scan at 15 week 5 days and they could tell 100 percent it was a baby boy x

I had a regular ultrasound at 15 weeks and the tech guessed boy, she said she wasn't 100% but that's what it looked like (we went back at 18 weeks and she then said girl because she mistook the umbilical cord as 3 lines) but we're having a little boy (confirmed by pottyshot at 20 weeks) so its possible to find out at 15 weeks, I'm sure its even more definite with a 3d ultrasound. I want one so bad but I'm waiting until about 30 weeks so I can really see what he will look like

I've had a scan with babybond both times at 16 weeks exactly and they've been 100% each time. I really recommend it if you're considering, such a nice experience being talked through all they see it's a good 20 mins and they let you guess the gender and see baby in 3d, then you get 8 photos included in the price and can buy optional stuff. My 20 week scan with my first the lady didn't talk just said all was fine at the end and confirmed the gender and we got a very blurry scan pic for a fiver. It was very much a formal medical experience as indeed is the purpose of it so very happy to have the private experience too.

I paid for a scan at 15 w 1 day and they just told me it was a girl. She saw the 3 lines and we did a 3d scan! It was anazibg

I recently booked a gender scan for 17 weeks + 4 days.. They do it from 16 weeks onwards though. OH was a bit :/ but I said yeaaaah but you can get a DVD with it
I am stupidly impatient this time round x

Wow - didn't expect so many responses! thank you all I phoned to book an appointment yesterday and all they had available was this Saturday. I got nervous and backed out. Think we're going to wait a couple more weeks xx

I've had gender scans with my last 3 babies as I was too impatient to wait until my 20 week scan, one at 18ish weeks and the other 2 at 16+0 and 16+2, all of them with babybond, it was a lovely experience and I would highly recommend it. Also, there's no guarantee that you'll be able to find out at your 20 week scan as that's not the purpose of the scan so if you really want to know you may as well find out now lol x

At 15 weeks it can't be guaranteed, even if you think you saw something between the legs.

The external genitalia look very similar then. From around 11-13 weeks they are almost indistinguishable, and even after that the clitoris is still extended for a while so girls might be mistaken for boys. Check this site for actual photos: https://www.baby2see.com/gender/external_genitals.html

I would wait until 18 weeks at least if you want to be more assured of the sex.

I would wait a few weeks rather than pay out loads if money! But that's just me

There's another forum board on here called gender prediction - you could post your early scan in there and ask people to guess, just for fun... I did! x

Ah op I feel your urge!! I'm finding it hard to wait also (8 days) I say do it privately! Did so with ds2 at 17w5 days but it's possible sooner I've heard let us know whatever you chose and the outcome!

Did you use the nub theory? That's more accurate early on according to studies, but checking the genitals isn't. Even if it was accurately guessed from a 13 week ultrasound by looking at the genitals, it's a 50/50 chance anyway!
