I just ordered a Cabriofix from boots.com. It arrived yesterday, with just the car seat in a plastic bag, inside a flimsy cardboard box. There was no padding, bubble wrap etc. I expect that the carseat would have taken a good bit of any impact in transit.

Given that we shouldnt buy used car seats because we dont know if it has been damaged by impact in a crash etc, is this any better? Is it something I should raise with Boots? Is it going to be the same issue regardless of the retailers?

I got mine in mothercare and it came packaged in exactly the same way. Think its fine though, big difference between a few everyday bumps and being strapped in a car in a car crash x

Non of our carseats have come bubble wrapped or anything and they're not exactly cheap! All they came in were bags and a box. Completely understand where you're coming from though, I never thought about it at the time x

My car seat came just in the box with plastic wrapping on the inside too. Sure it will be fine.
If the box looked badly damaged thats different.
xx

all come like that... :s

mine didnt even have a box from mamas and papas....it was just in plastic!

Mine was packaged in polystering (sp baby brain) and a thick box but then it came from britax themselves. I wouldnt worry about it. It'l have been secure in the van and as long as the box doesnt have any major dents then it'll be fine. if a flimsy box isn't dented thenthe seat wont have been touched.

I would be worried too - apparently your meant to get them tested if you drop them aren't you? I shall be stalking this thread as I am not 100% sure. Its nice that we have forums like this to ask these questions - we picked ours up from mamas and papas - but was is to say that it wasn't dropped there.... xxx

My Maxi Cosi Pebble came in exactly the same packaging from Boots as well. I'm not concerned, as the seat is built to withstand so much in terms of impact etc. If there had been any obviously scratches or dents etc, it would have gone back. As it is now, it is currently sitting on the floor in the kitchen ready for when this baby decides it's going to show it's face.

I got my cabrio from boots and picked it up from store and was packaged exactly the same!! Was your box in good condition or did it look broke and bashed?? If it was then I wouldn't be happy bit if the box is fine there should be no problem being slightly knocked won't hurt it think how much you will knock it getting it in and out of the car or carrying it xxx

My britax babysafe came from boots and was packaged the same way, never gave it a thought tbh.

Thats odd-mine was from Mamas and Papas and came all boxed up. Would have thought yours would too?
xx

Mine didn't she said they just come in bags. We got it from the shop and not delivered dont know if that makes a difference?

Yep Aimee mine was the same. I collected it from the store tho so perhaps your right and if they are delivered to your home they may be boxed? either way, im not worried.

my Mamas and Papas Cybex Aton, came in a bag and box with no extra padding. Im not really concerned though as the box is really too big to 'throw' by any courier, it would be easier to stack the square box and it wasnt damaged in any way.
