Car seat padding/insert in 1-2-3 seat? HELP!

I just got DS a new car seat, a Cosatto Zoomi but it has extra padding/inserts on the seat and at the top of the harness. He is 3.5 so I assume I should remove these? My 2 year old daughter still has them on her seat and I never really thought about them before. Should she still be using these or do I need to remove them? Thanks!

How does he look sat in the seat? I know at a certain weight the harness can be removed and use the seat belt (although I prefer the harness as long a possible for safety). If it is a 123 seat I would assume he being slightly older would be fine without the padding. When we got DD theirs I had both set up in my living room so I could check all the straps, padding etc. DD1 has a gracon123 and I removed the padding but if DD2 was in it she would still need the padding.
Not sire that helps. I hate car seats!

Do you have the instruction manual? Those often give detailed guidelines about the padding and harness fit based on weight, height and where the head/shoulders sit relative to the top of the seat. Otherwise you could call the manufacturer and ask.

He is still harnessed. I took the padding off and tried him in it and he seems perfect in it, I feel with it he wouldn't have been sat right. I'll try my daughter in hers v his and see how I feel with hers. I do have the instructions but it doesn't actually say when to remove them, I've searched on google and come up with nothing! Car seats definitely are frustrating! I wish there was just one for each stage lol!

I've got 2 Cosatto zoomi 123 seats. My son of 3.5 has no padding or harness now and my daughter of 15 months has both padding and harness. I removed my sons padding when he was 2 years 3 months ( but he is a big boy) and harness when he was just about 3.
