...basically is there any type of charity set up, like the shoebox scheme, but for old peoples home for men/women who have no families? Or a hospice etc.

the carehomes give them little gifts, unsure about in the community though.
 
I work on a care home and we as keyworkers get them their gifts so they do get things im not sure if there is such things as shoebox collections but you could always make a hamper to send in for residents a few ppl do that where i work x

we used to get sent hampers. ring the care home and see what kind of things they would accept. i dont think they can take food, we never used to.

one lady used to buy loads and loads of handcreams, shower gels and put them all in a huge box and the residents used to pick what they wanted.

she also used to do one for the staff too!! which i liked :p xx
 
some schools do stuff and alot of times some parts of the salvation army will do it too call a local care home they might be able to tell u of any local drives.
