Hi all,
I had my first child in March of this year born 5 and a half weeks early. Currently I work an hour to an hour and half away from home and this is not something I wish to do any longer as I spend approximately 12 hours away from home 5 days a week and now I have my little girl I would like to be closer to home and have more time to spend with her.
About 6 years ago (previous to my current employment which is admin in wholesale) I worked through an agency for 6 months in a school as a PA to the Headteacher and 6 months in Social Services as a PA to the service manager. I thoroughly enjoyed working within the childcare and educational settings as I felt I were contributing to helping children even though it was through admin I still played my part, however now I would like to go back into the education setting as a teaching assistant but I do not have any qualifications or experience in this department how do I go about obtaining a paid placement as there is no way I can afford not to be working.
I keep starting to write a letter requesting a paid placement but cannot help but feel it will be overlooked as soon as I state I have no experience or qualifications yet I would need a salary.
Would it be worth also mentioning that I would do admin within a school with the view to perhaps spending sometime within my working hours in a classroom to build experience?
Any help or suggestions?
