Hi! Does anyone have any amazing tricks for easing pregnancy related carpal tunnel syndrome? Do the splints you get work?

Hey i get this alot. My midwife told me to tell her at the next appt if it gets worse and she'll give me some splints.. Funnily enough i have restless legs too so i get pins and needles in them all the time aswell as my fingers due to the CTS! Such a pain... I find its worse in the morning..... Ive been told to keep them up during the night for the blood supply so perhaps prop them up on a pillow or something.... also there are some excersizes you can do....( to relive the niggliness) stretch your hands out and wiggle your fingers, then pull both thumbs in on both hands and scrunch the fingers towards your palm... Hope this helps... xxx

I have this, i was referred to a physio by my midwife, she tested me for it and gave me some splints to wear at night.

Although they're uncomfortable and hot they do help loads, now i'm not waking up so much with pain in my hands :D

Ditto Bethk - they do work but I am constantly hot so that can get uncomfortable! Another thing I was told to do was try and keep my wrists straight and elevated - I have yet another pillow resting lenthways on my head pillows and I rest one hand under, one hand over (don't know how to explain it really) sort of like hugging a pillow up by my head but just resting my hands and that seems to help.:hugs:

i have pins and needles in my right hand and wrist started last night i am 29 wks pregnant do u think this is carpel tunnel been giving me jip all night :(
