Positives:
Suitable for plus size ladies (I'm a 26)
Supportive and comfy, even for my 24lb'er!
Loads of beautiful patterns
Padded traps are super comfy

Negatives:
Have to be careful not to get straps in a puddle when tying outside!

10 out of 10, it is so great I'm getting another one

Make: Babyhawk

Url: https://www.babyhawk.com/

Type: mei tai

Positives:
Really comfy carrier, used mine from 3 weeks and only sold it to try another type, comes in a wide variety of patterns/colours.
I had never used a carrier before and im glad i had one of these to start me off.
Straps are padded so are comfy but id say if you are a size 22+ you might want the longer length straps

Negatives:
None really, price is quite high but you can get a resonable priced preloved one,
mine didnt have a hood

Make: Daisy Chain Slings

Type: mei tai

Positives:
I love this carrier! beautiful pattern and has a hood (i find hoods useful for feeding when im out ;) ) the body is long enough to toddler carry but smaller babies dont get lost in there,
straps are more padded than the babyhawk, so more comfy on the shoulders.
Everyone comments on it and how comfy Aimee looks

Negatives:
Again the price, but you can get them preloved as i did

Type: Mei Tai

Positives: Each one of these carriers is unique, straps are really well padded, its sooo comfy to wear, the patterns a real head turner and Aimee loves being in it. Has a hood so i can feed when im out. straps are a generous length.

Negatives:
the price! even preloved these can be quite pricey but occasionally you can get a bargain
also the straps, although very generous are a pain when their dragging on the floor (im a short arse 5ft4)

Make: Ellaroo Wrap

Url: https://www.ellaroo.com/

Type: Wrap-Around Carrier

Positives:
Light, very colourful, comfortable, so many different ways to use! Very sturdy being as the fabric is woven and not stretchy.

Negatives: Not so great for people who can't get the hang of wrapping/or can't be bothered

Marks out of 10 - For me I would say 10 !

Make: Kozy carriers

Url: https://kozycarrier.homestead.com/

Type: Mei Tai

Positives:
I found this carrier really comfortable but i dunno, it felt like the straps were a stretchy kinda fabric? i didnt like that as i had to keep adjusting them.
However bonuses are it fits toddlers lol (they lady who bought it from me experimented) straps are a standard length but you can pay extra for longer straps
theres a wide variety of patterns and colours available also
Aimee was comfy in it and looked snug :)

Negatives:
the straps felt funny to me
the black in the straps faded really quickley
no hood

Make: Moby Wrap

Url: https://www.mobywrap.com/

Type:
Wrap-Around Carrier

Positives
: Stretchy so you get a good fit to start off! Versatile with the many wrapping methods.

Negatives:
Material starts to sag and loosen after so many hours, plain designs, and again not practical if you want a quick fix or haven't got the time/inclination to learn how to use.

Marks out of 10 - 6 Sorry moby :( !

Make: Roobabyuk

Url: https://www.roobaby.co.uk/

Type: Pouch

Positives:
My very first type of carrier, Aimee settled well in it for the first 2 weeks.
Cheap

Negatives:
Hurt my shoulder after half an hour,
i felt like i was constantly on guard of people banging into Aimee, i never felt at ease like i do in a mei tai
Strap is not padded

3 i gave mine away

Baba Sling

Positives:

Difficult to get one over head if you have weak shoulders

1 out of 10, so uncomfy I never left the house with it

Make: Baby Bjorn

Url: https://www.babybjorn.com/en-gb/Eng/products/Mobility/BABYBJORN-Barsele-Original-Spirit/

Type: Spirit Carrier

Positives:
Gorjuss colour, and you can have baby front facing (which Aimee loved) or facing you.
Its easy to put on, and adjust to your babies size.

Negatives:
After an hour of wearing this my back was killing, the straps hurt my shoulders also.
Since in this carrier, babies legs are just pointed down, their not in a seated position i found that Aimees nappies leaked, probably due to being compressed.
Not good for cloth bums!

Make: Boba

Url: https://www.bobababycarrier.com/

Type: soft structured carrier

Positives: Super fast to put on- especially easy to do a back carry, good for bigger babies (rated for 15 to 45lbs, 1-4yrs), has foot straps (but really only good for tall babes as smaller legs aren't long enough to reach them)

Negatives: Plain colours, hard to get the buckle that holds the 2 shoulder straps together done up when doing a front carry since it's behind the back, not meant for small babies and padded waist strap means it doesn't fold super compact. Costly (unless you catch a good sale!)

Marks out of 10: 8 (not perfect but it's my current favourite of our collection)

Make: Close Parent

Url: https://www.closeparent.com/

Type: soft wrap - but structured

Positives: Soft material is nice and snuggly for Lo, easier to put on than a Moby style soft wrap but like other wraps is 100% adjustable - simply pull the long bits of fabric through rings to tighten, pull rings to loosen.

Quick to put on once you've done it once or twice and quick to put baby in - takes me less than a minute to get ready to go.

Multiple carry options.

Really comfy to wear (so far) even on longer trips and around the house as the straps are very wide and soft so weight is spread across your shoulders and back.

Negatives: Boring colors - no patterns

A bit pricey at around £60

The first couple times putting in on & popping babba in can be fiddly

There are 2 parts to the wrap (the 2nd part isnt necessary) but that could be a pain.

Marks out of 10: I'd give it an 8...I love it but I've only had it a little while and there may be a few more negatives over time - I have no idea how well the fabric will hold up!

I wouldn't be without it now as babba loves to be carried about and it means I can get mre jobs done while he's awake.

Has clips
Asjustable

Negatives:

Uncomfortable
Painful
Fiddly

I really didn't get along with it, baby wouldn't lie in it, couldn't get comfy. I found some success with a hip-style carry when he was a bit older but not enough to warrant keeping it!

Make: Connecta

Url:
www.connectababycarrier.com

Type: Buckled mei tai

Positives:
Comfy for mum & baby
Massive choice of designs (inc. custom)
Different fabrics
Sooo easy to use
Adjustable
Up to size 22
Optional sleep hood

Negatives:

Price maybe? £70ish but worth it!
Found it a little uncomfy now he's 23lbs, shoulders aching after long periods

Marks out of 10:
9. Having tried other SSCs there are definitely comfier ones out there

Make: Simply Mei Tai

Url: https://www.simplymeitai.co.uk/home

Type: Mei Tai

Positives:

Maria makes custom Mei Tais, so lots of choice.
Choose your own fabric, for both panel and straps.
Choose length of straps.
Choice of normal sleep hood or pixie hood.
Amazingly comfy and really beautiful slings.

Negatives:

Some may think price (£85+) but they are totally worth it, and have a fantastic resale value.

Marks out of 10:

10. I would give it more if I could. I love it, it is my only failsafe way of getting Freya to sleep, I can wear it for hours, It's just brill.

Make: Kari me

Url: www.kari-me.com

Type: Wrap around/scretchy wrap

Positives:

One size fits all - no need to measure yourself to see what size you are, which is excellent for me as me and oh are completely different sizes.

You can use the wrap for different carrying positions - on your front/hip/back

Ive found this much more comfortable than your standard type carrier (like the ones you get in mothercare) as the weight is more evenly spread across your body

Negatives: Can take a few tries to learn how to do it up/tie the basic knot

Marks out of 10: 9 out of 10

Make: Ergo baby carrier

Url: https://www.ergobabycarrier.com/

Type: Structured soft carrier (mei tai style)

Positives:

It's light weight, very padded on the shoulders and distributes the weight very nicely on my hips and easy to adjust so even my husband wears it! Bubs seems to be very comfortable in it (even without the infant insert) and i can see it working well when he gets bigger..

There is different colors to choose from and it has a hood + pockets too

Negatives: None really! The only thing is the price but honestly i think it is worth that :)

Marks out of 10: Id give it a 10!

Make: Bubba wrap

Url: https://www.thebubbawrap.com/

Type:
soft wrap carrier

Positives:

Folds up small so you can take it with you anywhere, easy to put on (not like other wraps where you have to learn the different ways of wrapping).. nice wide distribuion of weight on shoulders..

nice bright colors, no patterns though..

Negatives:

I find it doesnt work well for small babies... mine seems to not be supported enough and can sink to the side when he falls asleep.. + the strap to hold his bum is to thin and can start cutting into you...

Marks out of 10: Id give it a 6

Make: Storchenwiege

Url:www.storchenwiege.co.uk

Type: wrap around woven wrap

Positives: It's strong and soft, it comes in nice colours and is a thick wrap, perfect for winter

Negatives: Im thinking it will be a bit hot in summer, and wrapping isn't for everyone as it can be hard at first

Marks out of 10: 10/10
