Hi ladies :flower: Where I live they don't sell britax Models only Maxi Cosi's and another European model, which is unknown but I haven't seen on top of the safety ratings like other brands.

We wanted a britax pavilion, but my only concern is it would have to be shipped in the u.s. And then shipped to a special U.S. address and then from there it will be shipped to the Caribbean.(via airplane) I am scared that if they will not handle it with care it will get damaged but i wont be able to tell. That is one of the rewsons for buying a nee carseat after a car accident as well there might be internal damage to your carseat and it on't function properly. Whereas the store also gets them shipped but not individually they're all nice and packed together in a container and come via a boat.

They sell here the maxi cosi tobi, prori xp and axiss. What would you do?

P.s. Another issue is i wouldnt know if the britax seat would fit our car we have a rav4 2002 so no isofix.

It'll be packaged and protected in the box so I wouldn't worry too much.

Personally I would buy one of the maxi-cosi ones.

It's funny how different people have more faith in different brands of car seat, isn't it! We have a maxi-cosi infant carrier which i liked, then bought a combination seat by britax which I didn't like so much, so I would automatically go for a maxi-cosi over a Britax.

The main reason I wanted a Britax is to be able to rear face longer.

Isn't maxi cosi Tobi an extended rear facing car seat (can face both ways?) Am sure I saw that on the john lewis website (am planning on extended rear facing too)

Ah, I see. I thought the britax one was also forward facing. In that case I agree with amjon - go for the britax one, it will be boxed up and protected. My 2 are also in rear facing seats, and I wouldn't consider facing them forward until they area good bit older. :flower:

Can't find information on that though? But I am certain that you can rear face quite a bit longer at least with the Britax. I also read regarding the Tobi that there have been problems with the baby/toddler being able to wriggle out, due to the easy out harness. The Axiss is unaffordable for us.

If I were to chose one of the Maxi Cosi's it would be the Tobi XP, even though it doesn't come with a headrest.

You're looking for an ERF seat? I don't think the Tobi is but I'd have to double check that. We have a Maxi Cosi Mobi (rear facing up to 25kg) and a Britax First Class Plus (rear facing up to 13kg).

Its the maxicosi opal which is a combi seat likethe britax first class plus.

I have britax marathon, bought it on amazon in US, shipped perfectly, also RF/FF, love it, we are still using it with our almost 4 yo, holding up nicely! I believe they had a britax sale on amazon mom a week ago, probably still do -- 200$ for marathon (I bought it for almost 300). also amazon has free returns policy if damaged. Try it.
