Well, some of you will know that I got nineteen HIGH readings followed by one LOW this cycle using my Clearblue Fertility Monitor. Today, I rang the Clearblue help line and they were soooooooooo helpful. I have been making a really silly mistake, so take note everybody and don't do what I have done:
Every morning I would decant my urine into a plastic glass to dip my test stick into during my testing window (this is mainly because I work shifts). I would hold the stick in the urine for the required 15 seconds and then place the cap over the top. No problem so far. However, I was then holding the stick upside down by turning it around and watching the paper inside the stick turn blue whilst allowing the liquid to saturate the stick. BIG MISTAKE!
Clearblue have told me that the urine needs to go into the monitor to be read by the stick, so does not get turned upside down at all. You just dip it, place the cap and then lay it horizontally into the monitor staight away. The monitor does the rest. Oh pants! It's no wonder it didn't show a PEAK reading and no doubt I've waisted about 10 sticks. At least I've learned something that I can pass on to you guys.
Luckily I was also charting with FF, so have been shown that I most likely ovulated on CD17 (so am still in with a chance and my temps aren't looking too bad). Still have a week before testing, so looking forward to that.
