Cd 3 blood results..can u help

Hi these were my results:

11.5: FSH
LH: 1.7
Proctalin: 310


i know the lower your fsh the better

from what i read in Zita West fsh between 6-8 excellent 8-10 moderate 11-13 some diminished reserves but mine is 9.6 and fs said that was high then on next appt he said it was not great but ok. If you read Inconceivable the lady there had a fsh of 42 managed to get it down to 21.0 naturally with diet. accupuncture etc and conceived naturally at 43 so there is hope out there

To be honest that does sound high and I read once it's been high the affects are already there however I also read that it is not always a true indication of your egg reserves. You would be best getting your amh test done to measure your reserves. I paid £80 privately as not available on the nhs in my area. Wishing you the best of luck with ttc x

hi muncho, I do think acupuncture can help in all sorts of ways with this process. Also, I agree with oneday that it's good to get the amh test as well since it's a more reliable test for ovarian reserve. When I got my cd 3 tests, I had an elevated estradiol level which the doctor said could indicate poor ovarian reserve, but then when I got the amh done, it was normal.

Dont get too dishearted by this. This can be artificially raised or lowered by estradiol. Did you gp do this test?

Its maybe worthwhile asking about this, or as above have the amh test, which is a better measure. XXX

I had accupuncture for fibromyalgia and it worked a treat-so much so thay i was able to come off all my meds-which is what I wanted ttc. I am going to start it next week for fertility so keep in touch! x

I have taken this from a thread I started on interpreting bloodwork:

A normal LH level is similar to FSH. An LH that is higher than FSH is one indication of PCOS.


Increased prolactin levels can interfere with ovulation. They may also indicate further testing (MRI) should be done to check for a pituitary tumor. Some women with PCOS also have hyperprolactinemia. Prolactin should be < 24 ng/ml.

I dont think you can read too much into these without having a chat with your GP.

Did the GP mention anything? Are you ovulating? XX

thanks i read your thread on blood work..
the tests were done by the cons and im next seeing him on 12th dec. I had to get these readings from his secretary as i didnt have them on him last week...

He keeps telling me to chill out so i i ask him about this he is going to freak!

i def dont have PCOS as i had a lap last week , i do have endo so i dont know if thats relevant

Muncho, must be difficult waiting to see the dr to discuss the results, hope the wait for the appointment goes quickly.

With respect to prolactin, the tests I did said that anything under 510 was fine, but don't know whether it was exactly the same test.
