Cd1 or not? Brown spotting/discharge

AF due today I have very regular cycles. I thought it is cd1 today but it’s now almost 5pm and it’s still brown spotting just darker brown... yesterday at 12dpo I had brown tinged cm when wiping. Today curiosity made me check my cervix and it’s really high softish and closed? It’s usually low during AF. And I don’t have any cramps.

Sigh... don’t know what is going on. Was really hoping today was cd1 so I can start my soy soon did a hpt yesterday and it was a clear bfn so really doubt I’m pregnant, and I got a super strong bfp with my son by 10dpo.

I have a solid 12 day luteal phase and definitely ovulated on cd12 as I always feel ovulation. I never thought I would say this but I want my period to start already I’m ready to get into planning my new cycle and already psyched myself up for this month.

When do we consider it cd1? When we see red blood? Or when there is a ‘flow’ (more like discharge sorry for tmi) even if it’s brown?

Tesh I meant to respond to this yesterday when I saw your thread. I am also confused on what day is actually considered CD 1.

Does anyone know the answer to this? Do you count CD1 with spotting or does it have to be a full on withdrawal bleed?

I think cd1 is when you have a full flow. I usually spot before my periods and it seems like it is accurate for my cycles!
