Hello mothers, my dr prescribed me celexa last week, 20mg, but I have not taken any as I'm afraid it will affect my baby. She is almost 1 year and I breastfeeding 2-4 times a day.... Wht are your thoughts and experiences

Im on cipralex, which i believe is the same as celexa, im also on 20mg...im bf my five month old and was on it while preg as well, hes fine:) its fine, believe me!:)

The only negative cases involving celexa and BF were to do with newborns, there were two anecdotal cases worldwide of babies being more lethargic when the mother was taking celexa thus they didn't gain weight as well or even lost weight. As far as I remember both babies were under 6 weeks old, it wasn't proven that it was definitely the celexa causing the issue and they both made a full recovery. I have taken it while BF second eldest and my son was totally fine, it's the only anti depressant I can tolerate so if I had to take them again I would do so. Xx
