Central Alberta Mommies-to-Be! Come introduce yourself.

Oh right! Vikings! :grr: It's on the History channel on Sunday nights. People compare it to Game of Thrones but I don't like Game of Thrones and I love Vikings! You might be able to find the episodes online somewhere. I think they are only like 8 or 9 eps in. I like it because the story moves fast and it isn't super complicated (I get easily confused when there is a million characters and they all look the same ie. GoT). Plus the scenery is GORGEOUS (I think it is filmed in Ireland) and the men are pretty hot, all burly and hunky with their long hair and braids! Hehe The lead female is a certified B.A. (bad ass ;) ) It's a great show!

I am definitely LOVING the iMac, although my butt is not thanking me, I really need to go get a computer chair and stop using my hard kitchen chair lol

LOL that is indeed a crazy dream!! You must have seen an A&W commerical before bed or something! Thats funny though because I had a dream a week or so ago where we had a girl and for some reason hubby had her somewhere else and I went to go get her and she was a few weeks old and he had already named her some ******** name that I haven't even heard of and I was mad lol.

WE are going to find out, mostly because I am kind of a control freak and I don't think I could handle not knowing lol :dohh: We will be excited either way though. I really like your name choices  Love that they are not common over used names. Names are our biggest challenge, our dogs went unnamed for at least a week because we couldn't decide on names we both agreed on lol. So baby names is going to be fun :dohh:

OH yah im glad they finally put a schedule up!! I most definitely want to wait until 12 weeks to start them just in case... that being said, Sunday evenings do suck!! Especially becase we are planning on going to Christina Lake for July long weekend which would be the last class in that one. But 5:30 would also be a rush to get to because I don't get off work until 5, and July - August will be busy season for weddings...... too many decisions. I will let you know if I decide on one though!

You must be super excited for your scan today :happydance: I can't wait to hear about it!!

Have a good day!

:happydance: Scan day! :happydance: Scan day! :happydance:
Everything went so much better this time! We got a great view of babe and heard it's strong little heartbeat. I'm in love, I'm in love, and I don't care who knows it!! :cloud9:

We had the guy tech this time. He was really great. Asked way more questions than the girl I had last time. He would explain everything he was measuring and point out all of my anatomy! I work in the histology department of the lab in the hospital (anything you get cut out or cut off of you comes to us!) so I'm kind of an anatomy nerd :coolio: I loved it! Our dates came back pretty much bang on to what what I was guestimating this time too! I thought I was 8w 1d and he said 8w 2d/3d. So Dec 2 or 3! Little Christmas elf :xmas2:

It was so amazing to watch the little gingerbread cookie bounce around in there. I think it all feels real now. It's a great feeling

Girl, get yourself a pretty chair! You SO deserve it! Costco often has really nice ones at decent prices. That was where we got our office chairs. It was SO lovely for all those hours I spent studying when I was going to school. Glad your new computer is working out so well for you. Macs are so fantastic. I could never go back to a PC! :haha:

Finding out is totally just as awesome as waiting - it's still a surprise either way!! Those gender reveal parties are pretty spiffy too. Where noone knows the gender until the card the tech wrote on is open or the cake is cut. If we were finding out, I would totally try to do something fun like that! Even if it was just for a few friends, it would be so fun!! I still think I might crack by the time 20 wks comes around. Our friends are pretty encouraging so far though to leave it a surprise (which really surprised me! I always egged my friends on to find out!). So we will see!

That's funny your pups went a week with no names. The baby name game is so exhausting! I am super picky (nothing too kooky, but nothing too boring/plain, must sound appropriate for a professional but also be personable or have a personable nickname, etc....). I used to always keep a secret list that I would update as I heard cool names, but now that this is all for real, most of the names I had all seem ridiculous or silly. I love that DH found the girl name Ellery. It's fresh, but not too "made up" sounding. To me, it sounds like an update of Emily or Eloise. I really really love Sawyer for a boy, but DH can't seem to come around to it. We seem to disagree on most boy names - hence our roving list haha. Either way, one lesson I have learned is keep your mouth shut on your name ideas to family and friends. We told my mom about Ellery and she instantly goes "Oh, like Smelly Ellie". Haha Gee, thanks mom!

Well it looks like you are going to have nice weather for your shoot tomorrow after all! Oh my gosh, I am so excited for some nice weather!

I think I might do the Wed yoga. But not this May 1 session. I will probably wait for the next one. I would hate to miss a class or two because we are out of town. The way my rotation works, I work every Thur so I know we will always be around Wed night!

Thank FREAKING god tomorrow is Friday! For having Wed off, this was a killer week on me . I work Mon-Fri next week... I have no idea how I am going to cope haha Sometimes that one day off is almost worse. It's like a cruel half weekend! No big plans this weekend, probably just clean, read and relax. Maybe go look at some houses if anything decent come up (the market is crrrrazy right now). We are still in our condo we bought when we moved here three years ago. I'm thinking it might be time to move on up ;)

Ok this is turning into a friggin novel! Whoops!

Have yourself a wonderful Friday/Weekend!! :flow:

Im sorry it took me so long to get back to you, i had a very very very long day shooting the wedding yesterday. about 14 hours  waaaay longer than expected. Gotta love demanding clients lol I'm glad to hear your scan went well!!!! It's amazing hearing the heartbeat isn't it :cloud9: I wonder if you had the same tech as us? Ours was a male as well.

Costco!! Good idea! I never even thought about looking there! And yes I think once you go Mac there is no going back lol, they are waaaaaaay better!

Yes I wish I had the patience not to find out like you! But finding out will be just as fun! I am thinking of doing a gender reveal shoot or party as well.

The baby name game is not my favourite lol. I learnt a long time ago not to tell your names to close family of friends! I don't want anyone to put doubt in my head about a name that I love. My big thing with names is I don't want it too whacky, or to common/plain and it has to be a name that has a nickname/short version lol. Maybe it's because my name is sooooo common and there are no options for nicknames lol. The name DH and I have been throwing around since before we even started TTC was Bodhi...... I love that it can be shortened to Bo. Hubby was the one who came up with it.

We definitely lucked out with weather yesterday! It was sunny until the last half hour of the formals, but by then we had already gotten most of the main pics thank gosh.

Yes the Wednesday one starting in July is the one I am leaning towards as DH and I both work mon to fri.

Hope your having a great weekend!! I am completely exhausted today after the really long wedding yesterday... I had some spotting yesterday so I plan on taking it really really really easy this weekend.

Oh man! I sure hope the rest of your weekend was much more relaxing! That is one long ass day! No more spotting I hope??

Well my quiet, homey weekend vanished before my eyes  I went house hunting with my inlaws on Friday night while hubby was at work. More for them (they are moving here from out of town) but some for us too. They ended up putting in an offer so we went for a late dinner. Then Saturday we were literally two feet out the door about to take our dog for a walk when my phone dinged to remind me of a baby shower that started in an hour that I could have SWORN was Sunday! Holy baby brain! So our nice long walk was over before it started :nope:. I ended up making it to the shower only 15 minutes late! Then we ended up getting invited to friend's for a dinner party Sat night! It was really fun (more cards against humanity! lol) but I was falling asleep by 1130. Sunday was no quieter. A birthday lunch for hubby's gramps was planned a little last minute so we drove our to New Norway for the afternoon. We got back in time to take our poor pup for a quick walk and make it out to the Hideout in time for the Emma-Lee and Peter Katz show! SUCH a good show!

Today was a Monday of all Mondays. Mostly just because I was so tired but at the end of the day I had a chemical exposure :nope: My student and I were making a reagent and somehow we accidentally added concentrated hydrochloric acid instead of 1N HCl and it started bubbling and fuming. Obviously it wasn't supposed to do that so of course we also didn't have it in the fume hood. I got one really good whiff before I was out of range. My nose stung a little. The student was pouring it so she had a more significant exposure. We went to emerg to be checked just in case. I normally wouldn't have been too worried about it but being pregnant makes you really double think things! The doctor wasn't too worried. Our mucous membranes weren't even red. He said acids are better to be exposed to because your body can neutralize them right away. Unlike alkalines which can cause a lot of tissue damage. He wasn't worried about the HCl exposure being pregnant either because, well, our stomach always has HCl in it! He called poison control for me to ask about the other chemicals and being pregnant. They didn't seem concerned either. So, good news. I'm still worried but at least my mind is a litte more at ease! What a day  I really just want to crawl under a blanket on the couch and stay there the rest of the week.

I ended up signing up for two of the yoga classes. The one starting May 26 and the one that starts Jul 10. I'm really excited :happydance: The more that I read about all the benefits, I ended up deciding that even if I have to miss a class or two, going regularly will be worth it.

How was the rest of your weekend? How have you been feeling? Any funny dreams or cravings? Is your first appointment with your doctor soon?

Night love :hugs: Have a great week!

Morning :coffee:

The rest of my weekend was much more relaxing! Didn't do much of anything, just a bit of cleaning, grocery shopping and dog walking. It was nice  And no more spotting which is a huge relief.

OH WOW! What a busy weekend! You must have been exhausted come Monday! that is nice that your inlaws are moving to town! Will be nice to have family close when baby comes. Both of our parents live away, my family in Edmonton and his in BC.

That chemical exposure sounds pretty crazy! I am glad you guys are both okay and that the doctor ok'd everything! Hazards of the job I guess.

Awe you signed up for both?! Im jealous! I will be pushing it to get hubby to let me sign up for one nevermind two! :dohh: He is all budget conscious now that we are expecting.

Not much for crazy dreams yet! I know I had a pretty messed up dream last night, not about babies though, pretty sure it was about monsters :dohh: My first appointment with our prenatal doctor is this Friday!! Im pretty excited, I had to take the day off because they told me to expect 2 hours for the appointment, plus I have to take my car in for a service. It will be nice to have a long weekend :) Especially after this week, I am crazy busy at work, can't seem to get ahead on anything.

10 weeks today :happydance: 2 more till the safe zone!!! I can't wait! Happy 9 weeks to you :)

I am wondering if we should add eachother on facebook? Might make chatting a bit easier

Have a good day!! :hugs:

Hello Hello Missy!

Aw your weekend sounds so lovely! I have decided that I am NOT leaving the house this weekend! :nope: Not happening! Hubs is on nights Fri and Sat so this is perfecto!

We are pretty excited about our inlaws moving to Red Deer. They are wonderful! It will be a huge help too!

I am still pretty upset about the chemical exposure yesterday. I work with a lot of dangerous chemicals (xylene and formaldehyde probably being the worst) and have always been so careful about wearing proper protection. I even wear a mask when I gross specimens and have been made fun of for it, but I don't care! So to have been so careless makes me really mad at myself. :dohh: It was a valuable lesson learned the hard way unfortunately. So grateful it was not something more serious.

I meant to say, I really like the name Bodhi! I agree, Bo is a great nn. I think my favorite part about it is the H! I have this thing for renegade H's! I used to love the name Rhett (until a friend said it sounded like retch! :haha:) and I love when Nichole/Nichola is spelt with an H.

I think I might be selling hubby on the name Sawyer, which I am so stoked about! We mentioned it at dinner with our friends the other night and they really liked it! I think that helped!

I'm really excited about prenatal yoga! It's actually not terribly pricey (not as bad as I thought it was going to be anyways - $175 for both of the classes - 14 weeks total). I like to look at it as an investment in my health and wellness. What a great splurge when it's for not only you but babe too! Especially if it helps at all with all the discomfort in later pregnancy.

Congrats on 10 weeks! :happydance: You are officially in the double digits and 25% complete! :baby: How fantastic! I'm excited to hear how your appointment goes! It will be interesting to compare how things are done!

I'm pretty stoked about 9 weeks too - babe is now a fetus! :cloud9:

We can definitely add each other to FB! I'll PM you name (hoping I can figure that out! Haven't tried it yet lol) I should be the only one from Red Deer!

Okay, I can't lie - I totally have a mini blizzard in my freezer that is calling my name!

Have a great night!! :hugs:

Morning!!

Thats a good plan! You deserve a relaxing weekend :)

Your lucky! Where do your parents live? I am kind of sad that I have no family in Red Deer  I think that my inlaws might regret not deciding to move closer as soon as they find out!!! They are the old school kind of people, no cell phones, no computers, cant understand internet lol. We wanted to do something cute for them to let them know, instead of just calling them, so I sent his mom a "happy mothers day" card that says Grandma on the front and put one of our scan pictures in it. Hopefully they get it soon!!!

I don't blame you for being upset still, that is some scary stuff! I would wear a mask too.

Thanks :) You don't think its too out there do you?!? I am always afraid of names that people might look at on paper and not know how to pronounce. I LOVE the name Sawyer!!! That's actually a name on my list, but there isnt a nn for it :(

Oh wow it was $175 for both?! Thats not bad at all! I figured it would be around that cost for one. I am definitely going to have to sign up to at least one. :happydance:

That blizzard sounds amazing!!! I have been addicted to smoothies lately. I have made one for breakfast pretty much every morning for 2 weeks now. I am really bad at measurements so I normally wind up making enough for 2 and bring 2 cups to work to sip on all day.

OH I forgot to tell you, I found a Vikings marathon on this weekend!!!! I AM ADDICTED  It took about half an episode and I was hooked :dohh:

I added you on crackbook!!! You can feel free to respond to this on there if you want.

Have a good day!!
