Feeling sad now that the big day is over and so is Boxing Day ! Why does it have to go so fast . I cherish these days , although stressful !

Very happy children in our house and they have been spoilt rotten.

Onto New Years Eve now , what’s everyone’s plans ? We are going to spend it with family having a few games , drinks and food .

I feel sad too. It's such an exciting build up and then over so quickly.
We don't have any plans for new years eve. We never go out on new year so will just be staying in and probably watch a film.

I always have family over on Xmas who I love dearly but they definitely make life more stressful so enjoy New Year’s Eve with the kids where we can just eat junk food and play board games and Nintendo switch games.

Growing up, my family always had out of town family visiting for x-mas and New Year's so we'd get sparkling grape or apple juice, make some appetizers, and watch Dick Clark's Rocking New Year's Eve special on TV until the Ball Drop was done. But my husband's family doesn't do anything since it is kind of 'just another work day'. Sometimes, someone will host a couple's party for New Year's but it has been almost 10 years since then so I doubt we'll do anything special for it. We have church in the evening on New Year's Day but other than that, we will just be home. If I am up around midnight, I may try to stream the Ball Drop or the Chook Drop in my old hometown (a 'chook' is what we call a knit cap/beanie and my hometown had one made from lights two years ago so they could host their own version of the Ball Drop. They are actually doing an earlier party for those with families who want to come but don't want to have their little kids out til midnight so if that is streamed live, I might tune into that.) But no other plans as of right now.

The weather we're experiencing now should have been for Christmas day - it's all white and foggy. It feels so gloomy now.
I saw a couple of my family over Christmas, and won't be seeing them over new years (other than message and video call).
I'm working new year's eve, but at work we will have a little buffet for patients and staff. At home, we normally have a couple of games and light snacks to get us by - maybe a takeaway then go over to our local park for a mini illegal firework display which a few Eastern Europeans put on for us from 11pm (as that would be 12am in their country) but as soon as it hits midnight here they go to town with it all. Sometimes a few locals will take out a couple of bottles of fizz to pop. Wish everybody a HNY, hug a few randomers, then we go home to bed :haha:
