I really want some unique centrepieces that i can do myself...

My dress will be red, bridesmaids in black and we have red and white balloons scattered in the reception room along with while linen for the tables and deep red runners and napkins.

So im wanting an idea to go along with the red/white/balck theme but all i have come up with so far is floating candles in glass bowls and flowers in glass bowls:dohh: Im not very inventive:haha:

Any ideas?

You could have large bowls of red and white sweeties?

I think it could look really nice and guests would be able to munch on them as the day goes on.

xXx

I'm really struggling with this too so i'm no help i'm afraid :(

What about having photos of you and you other half whilst you have been together?

At our wedding I used a large fish bowl with a mini version of my handtide flowers, which were red roses, and at the bottom had clear jelly.

What about black candelabras on mirrored plaques, some red roses around the bottom, or red table jewels (you will find them on confetti.com)?

That sounds lovely!
Any ideas on the best place to get the candelabras?x

You can hire the candelabras from venue dressing companies, or your florist/venue might be able to source them for you (or have them already) Try ebay, weddingmall.co.uk or preloved.com for an idea of price xxx

Try the YouandYourWedding Forum - the girls have some fab ideas, and you can get some real inspiration from their weddings xxx

What about feathers ? I had thought about having peacock feathers for my table centres. My local haberdashery sells large and small feathers and I also saw lots on ebay. Here are a few pics https://propstogo.com/Elegant/blacklinensredsashesfeatherchandeliercenterpieces.jpg

OK I am getting carried away with the pictures now !

I have also heard of people having antique style bird cages with either flowers or candles

If you google Birdcage centrepieces you get lots of lovely images.

Have also heard of people actually having fish in the fish bowls (but have also heard that sometimes guests are mean to the fish !)

I was looking up ideas last night as well, so far I'm loving the idea of having a smallish vase with willow branches in them, maybe a few silk flowers resting on the branches. I also like the idea of slender, tall vases with dyed water in them (whatever colors you've got planned for the wedding), and floating candles in them (probably white to contrast with the water). I also like the little vase with red roses/flowers in them, set on a mirror in the center of the table. I might switch it up and do the willow branches and the mirrors, because I think it'll have a very cool effect. :) Best wishes!

I am doing these fishbowls,Mirror plates and tea lights and you can put whatever you want in the middle!x

i saw on a wedding show the centre pieces were large bowls of water with a few goldfish in each

I ended up getting them on Ebay,They work out a lot from new but keep your eye out on local listings and I am sure some will come up.The pic I posted a woman sells them on ebay for £22 + £4.95 postage but I have done them myself for about £10 each just as the pic but with Black and Ivory. When do you get married hun?and how many do you need??I have 6 and getting married in Sep so could always sell the bowls and mirrors on after?(which is the plan anyway).xxx
