I have a feeling it means baby is head down and facing left , But that was from some reaserching and reading between the lines so i could be very wrong hun sorry .
I know Ceph means head down so thats good . xxx .
i think in your maternity notes there'll be an abbreviation list. i think its left occiput position, look up optimal fetal positioning on google, or left occiput but i think its either posterior or anterior, dont know what the L could mean
Ohh I dunno my last one is ROL! It's clear as day. She's written all the other ones (ROA, LOP, ROP) loads of times and this one is clearly an L. How strange x
ROA: right occcipital anterior (back of baby's head is forward on your right)
ROL: right occipital longitudinal lie (baby is lying sideways with the head on your right)
ROP: right occipital posterior (back of baby's head is backwards on your right)
Just foun that on a website (would be the same but left for you) but this can't be right seeing as both our LO's are ceph. I give up. I'm at the hospital on Tues so I'll ask then x
LOL refers to the baby's position and is "Left-occipito Lateral: meaning babys head is facing sideways instead of anterior or posterior... the back of the baby's head is on the left. ( ROL, back of babys head is on right).
Longitudinal refers to something different, the lie . Hope this helps!
Thanks for posting this, I had this exact abbreviation written in my notes yesterday (Ceph) with LOL written beneath and I have no idea what the LOL means!
She did mention that babys back is to the left side of me, head is down but thanks for clarifying the lol!
