Chances of twins after twins?

In the last few years I've have mc'd and one mc was twins.

I THINK I could be pregnant again as have a very very feint line on a few tests.

What are the chances of conceiving twins again after the twin mc?

We had twins 6 months ago and now just one. It can be as low as 1/70,000 for repeat fraternals (identical are much less likely than that). It really depends on the "risks" that caused the twins and if they are still the same.

I've read lot of conflicting stats, there's at least two ladies on here who have been pregnant with twins twice and I know of someone who had two twin sets and triplets so I don't think its out of the question.

I would like to do a study of those of us where it runs in the family or whatever and go every month and see how many eggs matured and then how many of them actually released....see if there is a pattern like every 3 months you have a double release or what not..I think that would be super interesting to see if there is a pattern and then that would help us plan for twins or not lol..

Me too! I find the whole thing very intriguing but with so many conflicting stats and studies its hard to tell.

Me too. There seems to be very little research, even the midwives in hospital didn't seem to know very much about twins.

Is funny you say that as since having the twins I notice some months my fertility signs are more pronounced and I get ovulation pain on both sides.
Some months I get normal signs of ovulation and pain on one side and some months I get no pain and no ewcm nothing!! it's something ive really only just started paying attention to though so hadn't worked out the pattern yet but it seems to be every 3rd or 4th month I get the pain on both sides then a month of nothing immediately after .

For the op question in one of the twin groups I am in some say Second set of frats as high as 1 in 12. I'm not sure where the info comes from though.

There is a hyper-ovulation gene. If you have this gene it is more likely to conceive multiple sets of twins. This gene runs in my family and there have been many sets of twins. Often those who have had one set (in my family) go to have more. I have an aunt that had two. I myself am on set number two. My eldest had a vanishing twin.
