well our baby girl made her entrance on monday and we called her ella but im not really liking the name we are thinking of changing it to elouise then she could still be ella for short what do you think is it to late to do it and if we did we would have to change her middle name as well as at the moment it is louise lol im just a bit stuck what do you all think xxxx

You go with what you feel best. It wont matter changing it now xx and congrats!! xx

do what u feel is right :D!.. my sister was called ashley for about 2 weeks before my mum & dad registered her as Lyndsay - totally shocked everyone, but she really suits her name xx

well u havent offically registered her with your local registars office have u? if not then ad change it

I think if you do not feel 100%, then go for it! She's your little princess and as far as I am aware you get 3 weeks to register her, my Auntie changed all 3 of her kids names after the birth lol x

It's your baby and definitely soon enough to change the name. I say go for it!

Change it, you are going to be saying baby's name for many, many years so need to like it. As long as you haven't registered the birth then go for it.

This link may help you...You have 6 weeks to register the birth of a baby, but even after that up tot he age of one the name can be changed:

Definitely change it if you want to. I think you'd have to change the middle name as well though :)

Just to add Eloise is one of our choices for a girl - love it!

id go with what you feel in your gut then you cant go wrong...but if you change it youd need to change the middle name in my opinion xx

If you aren't keen then definitely. Eloise is a pretty name and as you say you can always call her ella if you change your mind later on. Plus you get to pick another lovely name to have as a middle name! x

i think change it if you want plus eloise gives her much more choice of nicknames if she does not like it when she is older x x

I agree with the ladies here, if you want to change then go for it.....Its got to be a name that you like, you going to be using it for the rest of your life.....I would change the middle name too though if you change her first name.....

i agree if u dont feel it fits change it its not a huge change n u can still use ella as a nickname congatullationsx

I named my daughter Jaslin :haha: actually is was oh's idea, right after a long labour, I agreed and signed it off. A few weeks later I went and ammended her name cuz I just hated it! I didnt care how much it cost, I did it lol. My 2nd son I couldnt come up with a name in time, so the papers all said 'baby boy' as his first name :dohh: so obviously I had to change that too.

It happens often, ppl pick a name, but once they see their lo it just doesnt fit! So if you even have the question on weather you should change her name or not, do it! Its harder to change once she's 2 yrs old lol. She might not listen to you :winkwink:
