Changing LO name??--updated

Still having a name dilemma here. I have posted before about it. OH and I couldnt decide on a name, when LO was 3 days old I let OH use the name he liked. I still am not crazy about it. We used a middle name I liked, but was not sure about. Since then I have really grown on the middle name and wish we would have used it! I have no problem calling LO by his first name, it doesnt seem to be a major problem in most cases. OH says people will think we are crazy if we change his name now. We won't change it legally but just what we call him. What do you think?? (OH said if 60% agree with me then we can change it ) I won't say he names b/c I don't want that to impact opinions.

Well, I don't see anything wrong with you calling him his middle name at all. With Lyla even though its not her name or even in her name at all I always randomly called her Eliza lol. For no apparent reason. He is your son, you can call him whatever you like. (Guessing his name if frank) - why don't you give him a nickname like frankie or something cute?
Also I had a teacher when I was at school called Jordan but that was her middle name, her real name was Elizabeth but since she was a baby everyone just called her Jordan, she doesn't even use Elizabeth now at all xx

There really is no NN. we have tried thinking of one. And that was one of the reasons i didn't like the name b/c he would always have to use his full name. If I make one up that isn't related I might as well use the middle name I like!

I say change it! LO is a month old - he won't even know. You're going to be calling him by this name for the rest of his entire life, it might as well be something you like!

I'd use the middle name if you & oh both like it. I'd do it now though before he starts to recognise his name... otherwise it might confuse him later on

I think it is fine to use his middle name! It is still part of his name afterall!

In fact, everybody calls my nan Winnie, they have done all her life, and it was only when she seen her birth certificate when she was around 16 that she found out her first name was actually Mary! She didnt even know herself, she really thought her first name was Winnie up until then. xxx

Id change it. My best friend doesn't use his first name ever. Another friend hated her first name so uses her middle name.

I've just remembered everyone calls my grandad Thomas, but his first name is Robert. Completely forgot until you wrote this! It's just normal to hear him called Thomas

I'd use his middle name! Our LO is called Robert as he's named after OH, FUL etc but we chose for him to be called Bobby to make him different! Do what you think is right, we had people saying we were silly calling him something else but now everyone knows him as Bobby!!

My MIL has always used her middle name. That's all everyone knows her as. All because her dad registered her names the wrong round :doh: So I'd say just use LO's middle name. It's not as uncommon as you might think! I'm a teacher and know a few kids who are known by their middle names.

I think change it! people will soon forget and get used to it, and so what if they think its silly, you'll have the name you like! xx

Thanks ladies! I clearly have won the poll bet! 83% already! I hope I don't break OH heart. I can't tell if he is ok with it or just agreeing because he knows it is what I want.

Ok 80% agreed it is ok to change it. Not sure if everyone will agree with the name choices. Although it is a unique name we have gotten good reactions. His first name is Landon and his middle name/common name will be Ryker. now to convince my family I haven't completely lost it!
