This year we are changing our christmas lol we are going to do it OUR way and what suits us and not just what the family normally do. This year for the first year EVER we have said we are going to stay at home, if people want to come, thats fine, but were not going out to them lol. This should make the kids happier as M wont have to get dressed (he hates that) and he can stay in his pjs and they can actually play with their new toys.

We normally have Christmas dinner at about 1pm but thats going too. It just means I spend most the morning in the kitchen which I dont want to do. Sooo we going to have Christmas buffet for lunch time and when people come over, this should make us all happier.

We will have christmas dinner in the evening when the kids have calmed down!

Hopefully this will make christmas as fun as possible. When you have a child with ASD sometimes you have to make a few tweeks to your traditions and I am sure this will work MUCH better x

Anyone else changing things this year?

This year is first year with LO, we usually go out to family 4 xmas dinner, but this year are doing at home and starting our own traditions xx

we are changing our ways this year to :) We are thinking of just staying in the house all day in our jim-jams, just a nice snug family Christmas :)

Glad to hear other people are doing things to make christmas go better for them x

Last year I cooked for 13 (mainly inlaws ) but this yr its just me, oh, amelie and my mum and brother. Will be so much more relaxed for me as I wont need to 'host' and i can actually spend some time with my LO as we dont have dinner til 4pm.

We always sit down to dinner as the Quenn starts her speech, so we turn the TV off !!!!!! lmao

 Just right. We're doing things our way this year too. Fed up trying to please people.

ours has changed but i think thats mainly since my nan passed away (she used to stay with us at xmas and new year) but she'll still be part of xmas with us

We're doing it our way too - we are going to MIL for dinner and visiting my Mum and sister at some point, but will not be spending too long out of the house :)

first year we wer together we went to our respective families. the next year we went to the inlaws during the day and my family in the evening. this year we are going to my family during the day and the inlaws will come here in the evening. NEXT year... we are having christmas HERE. i dont mind making dinner for everyone if they want to come here, its only the 4 parents and my brother. i just want to have a calm xmas in my own house, the year before i met barry i worked 7am-7pm on xmas and the year before that i spent it in canada! been a while since i had a nice chillaxing xmas day.

Usually we go to see our relatives on stephen's day but this year we're going to use the day just to relax athome

we are staying home. i didnt want to go anywhere becuase her gifts are here. we also wont eat till about 5-6. and on x-mas eve ill let her open one small gift becuase i dont remeber which is her x-mas pjs lol.

We are staying in as well. We will be us 3 and my mom&dad are coming to town for Xmas dinner. I wanted them to come on the 24th and sleep over and spend more time with us but my husband said he rather be only the 3 of us on Christmas morning, which I understand. So my parents will arrive in the afternoon then have dinner with us and spend a few days here.

I am really looking forward to it ! I have come to hate big Christmas family parties, the drama, the jealousy and the stress. Not this year!!!! =)
