Hey,

I was wondering if you could check my chart. The last two days my temp. has touched my coverline. Is that normal?

Why would it do that?

Could be an implantation dip? I have seen a few pregnancy charts where they had a 2 day dip.

The coverline carries no physiological meaning. It is just a visual tool to help you see your ovulation pattern. Whether or not your temperature rises or falls below this line does not necessarily indicate anything significant. Individual temperatures can fluctuate at any time of the cycle, for both hormonal or non-hormonal reasons. A single dropped temperature usually doesn't mean much. You want to look at "the big picture" and see a pattern of temperatures over time. As long as you can see a biphasic pattern and a trend towards elevated temperatures after ovulation, there is no need to worry about a single dropped temperature or two.

I've always heard it is important? If it was just to see a pattern then wouldn't the coverline be the exact same each cycle? xx

The coverline (the line drawn horizontally across your chart once ovulation is detected) is a visual tool to help you easily see your pre- and post-ovulation temperatures. It has no physiological significance whatsoever so where it is placed does not have much importance as long as it helps you to see your ovulation pattern. The coverline is set at one tenth of a degree higher than the 6 previous temperatures before ovulation. So it wouldn't be the same every month as your temps are not the same very month

Thank you so much for explaining that! I never really understood what the coverline was and what it stood for. I appreciate you taking the time to explain it to me! Lots of sticky baby dust xx

Do you think the huge dip this morning could be implantation or af coming?

If it's a possible implant, wouldn't it jump back up again tomorrow morn?

10dpo is a bit late for implantation, but you do have a longer luteal phase so it's possible.

Yea, I thought it might be too late. I'm having cramping at 10dpo and usually have about a 16 day lp. I hope that is a good sign, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I will put my temp in the morning. If it doesn't spike, I'm gonna say it's a no on implantation dip.

Good luck. I hope it is an implantation dip or just some dip that doesn't mean AF is coming.

Thanks. Not thinking it's good, but temp went up a little today. Cramping pretty bad though. Guess it's on to next month. How long you bee trying slh?

You never know your temp might go back up tomorrow. I hope it's not AF. I'm doing good. I just got a smiley and a peak on my cbfm so I will be ovulating tomorrow. I have been trying for 10 months now, but have been seriously trying since May when I started charting.
How long have you been trying?

Same as you. I was due to put my nuvaring back in December 19th and didn't. I have been using OPK's from beginning. I charted my first month and am now on my 3rd month of charting since the start. I'm gonna chart next month b/c my gyn. wants to see 3 months worth of charts and then I'm gonna quit b/c I feel it makes me worry too much and over analyze lol. I have a pretty good idea of what my cycles are like now.
