Child Benefit

so we sent out form off aweek ago today lol but today in the post we got a letter back well it was the birthcert and a slip of paper to say they had inclosed the birthcert not asking for anything else or telling us anything else..

So im a bit confussed, why do i have the birthcert but no letter saying they have sorted the claim out? or is this how they do it for everyone? is it likely there might be another letter in the post or ready to be posted giving us our CB number ect?

i think it is how they do it these days, cause i got the same with aiden then just started getting money without any further letters! so just keep an eye on the bank balance lol xx

They did that with me, i checked my bank and it had already been paid in, i recieved a letter to say it was all sorted 3 or 4 weeks later lol

that sucks if thats the case because TAX credits ask for your child benefit number grr ill keep an eye on the bank next week and at the end of next week might ring them up to see whats happening lol

just phone tax credit and tell them you dont have a cb number they just take your ni number thats wat they done with me and i got my tax payments xx

So i should just send off the tax credits form and then call them once they have the form?

That's what happened to me too.. checked a couple of days after getting documents back and there was money in my bank account. A few days after that I received the letter. x

yeah they send back the birth cert first so you should get a letter really soon showing how much and when x

Yeah just send in your tax credits claim thats what i did with aiden xx

I wasn't asked for the child benefit number - I just rang the tax credits and they took Ben's name and DOB.

I sent off my tax credit application before I got my CB number back, and then when I got it I just rang them and told them it.

I got Amelias birth certificate back after a week and then I got the letter with the CB number on 2/3 days after that with a nice back payment in the bank too.

i got my letter today and should be paid £80 this week
