Sorry theres probably been loads of threads on this but i herd on the news lastnight that the government are actually stopping child benefit now?
I only herd the back end of it so there might be more to it than that but does anyone know anything about this?x

no it won't be cut but it will be frozen for three years which means that the amount won't increase, but it won't decrease either, they were considering means testing so that people over a certain income wouldn't get it but nothing has happened on that front so far

im guessing this isnt happening in Canada cause i have heard nothing about it at all.

There is rumor that they are going to means test Child Benifit, so instead of everyone getting it, middle-class higher earning families probably wouldn't get it or get less of it. I doubt this means that the less well off would get more but you can only hope as they have already frozen it and hiked up the tax!

Yeah it's frozen for a while then there's rumours it'll be means tested but I'm not sure what amount will be the cut off etc tbh I don't even think they know yet but I don't think they're going to stop it altogether
