hi troublsome me again! always seem to be posting about ex problems, sorry. i was thinking about the advice you ladies have given me and i totally agree with what you are saying, especially that he has to pay child support. However i think it would be dificult to get child support if his name isnt on the birth certificate? i wasnt him to be on there but after a tricky conversation a while ago he said he didnt want to be onthe bc. ive been trying to do some research and it looks like wed either have to go to register together, or for him separately to gain a parental..(something) for me to take along with me. I doubt he would do this as he wouldnt even find out his blood group when i was having problems a little ago. i was just wondering if ayone knew about this orknow any website that would help me - as it really looks like hes just going to get away fathering a child and forgetting its happened. would be grateful for any insight/help as im stuck on where to look now. xxx

Hiya hun

Even if he isn't on the BC you can still get child support from him :)

Worst case scenario being he could deny the baby is his. The CSA would then make him take a DNA test. If it comes back that he is the dad then he'll have to pay the cost of the DNA test, backpay you any owed child support & then carry on paying you child support.

It's alot easier if he just admits LO is his :)

Hi Angels! If you're in the UK I can probably help you, I was a family law solicitor up until a couple of months ago! He doesn't need to be on the birth cert for you to get child support through the CSA (www.csa.org.uk I think) and I wouldn't put him on the birth cert unless you're happy with him having an input into decisions on schooling, medical etc. At the moment, if he's not on the birth cert, he doesn't have partental responsibility and that's the way you want to keep it unless he steps up and acts like a responsible father.

You could make an application through the CSA once bubs is born. He'll probably deny he's the father and you could then push for a paternity test. If he refuses, I think it's open to the CSA to say that he prob is the father and start demanding money. Just depends on whether he has the funds to make all of this worth your while. You're looking at 15% of his net income unless he has other kids and if he's not earning or earning very little then there might not be any point.

Sorry it's a bit long but hope it's helpful and pm me if you want any more advice xxx

thankyou for that, really been a big help - certainly feel a lot less stressed about the situation now. thanks again! xx

I got 15% of my dads wages, with him having 3 other kids too. First child is entitled to 15%, the rest are entitled to 15% between them. Good luck with it xx

if u know that he is the father u can get a DNA test done than he has no choice but to pay u child suport.the courts can order him to do a test if he refuses to do so. he cant get out of it unless he isnt the father. if the tests go through he will than have to go on the cirt. he can try n fight it but he wont win
