I assumed that when I have number my CTC would go up a bit, I've just done the calculator thingy online as if I've just had number 2 and it came out with us getting less than we do now.

To anyone with 2 LO's, what happened with your CTC's after LO #2 arrived. I'm so confussed!

It might be because hon it will only calculate what you would be entitled to from this financial year so from now til April.
So the amount you're looking at would be more for a full year,if that makes sense?xxx

ah yes, I'd not thought of that! would still like to hear how ctc was affected after #2- how much did it change eg. just looking at finances for when we finally get :bfp:!

You dont get any extra for #2!! Only #3!

Depends on your income ...only dont get anymore if u are earning 30k or more a yr which if i was earning that I wouldnt complain ...we earn half that so therefore we got more when we had #2

We earn £30k and can barely afford to live. £700 a month nursery fees, £625 rent, £400 (water, council tax, leccy & gas).... We only come out with about £2k when we get paid. It's not a bed of roses I can tell you that.

So when I have another baby, I can either be a SAHM which isn't for me, or expect to pay £1400 in nursery fees, leaving £600 to live on.

Brilliant.

I do wonder about this country sometimes you know :(:( x

our income is a little shy of 16k. Its a bloody nightmare at the end of every month we are a bit more overdrawn!!

I've just done the calculator again and worked it out as it is estimating from now until april, not a year as I thought yesterday :dohh:

it says my ctc willl double if I have 2 kids so feeling a little better!!

I do too ...we was told we was £50 a wk better off ...yes we was from the oct until april ...then £35 a wk better off and now we are £12 worse off ...makes no sense ...seems in the country its best just to sit on ya arse and do nothing ...we both work btw but i only do 10hrs per wk so we sort childcare between us selfs i couldnt afford childcare otherwise :hugs: x

Thats like us. OK we have over 30k when both working, but £700pm is going to be nursery fees.
It says we would get 5k a year if we are both working and the kids are in nursery - so that would be 400 a month towards it. But still 1k a month we would need to pay - that would leave £100 from my monthly salary.

So not worth it really, so if there is ever a #2 I will have to be a SAHM for economic reasons because it would cost MORE to go back to work!

We're TTC and I really don't want to have to give up work. Im really scared after reading this, feel like we shouldnt try for another baby anymore because I just can't see how we'd afford it. x

thats exactly how I feel, I desperately want a baby but I'm convinced we will just get ourselves in a financial mess

You should get about £100 a week from your earnings Amy :)

* thats in total for both children xx

I get £107 a week CTC thats with 2 children. I used to get £72 before i had number 2. Also i get wtc of £73 a week. My income is only £5000 a year though as i only work 16 hours atm. I hope thus helps hun
