Chocolate sauce

Hi all,

I had a D+C to remove my identical twins on the 12th Jan. (you all prob know already).

I thought i had stopped bleeding after about ten days so we have been having intercourse. But i have had the occasional spotting. Today i have been to the toilet and in my ST there was a very thick melted dark chocolate discharge type substance (quite a lot).

I have also had quite alot of dull stomach ache in the very lower stomach. Like bad period pains.

Has anyone else had this in their third week after a D+C? What is it? Why am i still bleeding on and off? But each time the stuff that comes out is very different to look at.........

I know that somethimes it takes 21 days to stop bleeding. But this seems wierd and i have not heard anyone else talk about this poblem.

Another Q? I also did another pregnancy test last night and it was still positive...! When did all your levels come back to normal??

it can take longer in some cases, what you're describing sounds like old blood. I've had that with every miscarriage. However I'm not a doctor, I think you should see one though. Not worth waiting to find out what it is.xxx

Hun perhaps a visit to the dr, it does sound like old blood and i had this with my natural m/c but not with my d&c. Perhaps the dr could check your hcg levels to make sure they are dropping as they should be.I got my -hpt 2 weeks after my d&c, but levels are higher with twins so maybe that is why.

Thanks all. I think i will give the doctor a call. The browny stuff has more or less stopped now, but no doubt it will return again today when i least expect it.

I also thought that levels would take longer but it is really disheartening that i cant get a BFN! I just want to get it out my head and whilst feeling like this it is hard, and a constant reminder of what we have lost, if that makes sense?

I have had two D+C's and one was years ago, although i can only remember bleeding for a few days then it stopping and nothing else. I cant even recall the pains i am having now - especially not in the third week!

This is so weird as today I have had exactly same thing (my d&c on 14th). I am so peed off now. Really want a bfn.... never thought I'd ever say that. Going to call doctor tomo

hiya hun, i ad the exact same like a really dull belly ache,also i was bleeding on n off for 3/4wk i even phoned and asked if this was normal she said it was
i had a dnc in march08 and got a proper af in may .... sry uv been thro this hun

Thanks all. I know it is really hard not being able to move on whilst it is still a BFP.

The Chocolate sauce has more or less stopped now it is just dry and crumbly when i wipe. I hope it does go away TMI (really missing my partner if you know what i mean) i love cuddling and things but i want to feel that intamacy again, make me feel wanted and show him i am not pushing him away after all this.

He says if it happens agian he does not feel teh heartache necessary, i have tried telling him it is so common and that i would like to keep trying as i feel our family is not complete yet. (only us and our adorable dog). I think he is just scared and deep down blaming himself.

Thanks all for all of your comments and advice. I had a D+C many moons ago, but cant remember all of this happening (but i also cannot recall feeling all of the pregnancy symptoms and sore boobs either! and i was 11 weeks).
