Choking on milk??

Through most if not every bottle, it's as if the milk goes down the 'wrong hole' and she ends up coughing and coughing then it's like shes forgot how to take a breath because she makes the noises as if shes gasping for air and gets all aggitated and sort of pushes her back back and starts winging.

anyone elses baby do this?

My boys used to do that, while nursing, like when milk let down quickly. It seemed to happen more when they were sleepy which would make me think maybe that's what's going on with her? Maybe sometimes she gets choked up just because of the flow? Is it still slow flow nipples? Does she seem to do it more when she's tired? she might just be tired and not really thinking about what she's doing you know? And then looses her suck swallow "pattern" and just chokes on it.

Grady did this with faster flowing nipples!

Yeah im still using the teats that came with the bottles.. the tt ctn ones.

I used them with Joel and and never had any problems so i dont think its anything to do with the teats.

Ryan does sometimes..i think its when they gulp[ really quick and get greedy!
i wouldn't worry as long as u sit her upo when shes coughing and pat her back..you should be fine.
also ryans worse when hes dozing! x

Liss does this when I use my normal teats (vari flow) and ready made cartons. I am su re it must be thinner some how than make your own. As she is fine with make your own with normal teats, so I have to use a stage down teat (number 2) if I use a carton which annoys her as it takes her forever to drink. So now I take all the stuff out with me flask powder etc as she just doesnt get on with the cartons on the faster teats. Weird!

Chaise does this as well (on both the newborn teats and the vari-flow.) We just take the bottle off him and pat his back till he's finished spluttering!

Theo does this too hun, Theo tries to gulp the milk down tho, he gets really greedy and sometimes loses his sucking pattern and goes mad at the teat til he finds the rhythm again xox
