I am 15+9 and my doctor saw a CPC on my scan today. Apparently it can be a soft marker for Trisomy 18. It also happens in many "normal" pregnancies and we will have to wait for our next scan to see if there are any other markers to determine risk factor. Has anyone else had experience with this? Our nuchal testing gave a less than 1:10000 chance of any Trisomy so I'm trying to look at the positive and the fact that most of the time this is not a concern.

Jordan had a cpc and we chose to do another more in depth scan with a specialist dr to look for other markers. None were found, just the cpc. We talked to a genetic counselor who said these are found more often in healthy babies than babies with the trisomy. The specialist said our risk of miscarriage with amnio was greater than the odds of jordan having t18. It was worrying for us during the pregnancy even though they had tried reassuring us. She was fine though. The cysts did go away we found out during of growth scans.... They wouldn't have rechecked they said it didn't matter if they went away. The only reason they mean anything is the marker. they aren't harmful in anyway. Jordan is now 19 months and very healthy girl. If you want to chat or have other questions feel free to pm me. One of my babies was just diagnosed with this. Just like you they tried to Reassure me all is well as it was the only finding. I'm in a state of limbo like you, waiting for Another scan. Its taken me a few days but I'm starting to feel a little better about it. You're not alone.
