Who has a visiting elf? What elf antics have you got planned?

My MIL bought us one so we will be having one this year. I'm actually kinda nervous about it. I don't feel organized enough to make it work! I have no clue what to do. I'm thinking the Elf will make its appearance on Dec 1st with the kids' Dec 1st boxes.

Our elf is bringing our advent calanders, no idea what else I'might getting him to do yet though.

Ours will be making a come back. My daughter was watching the elf on shelf did we got last year today. My kids just like finding where the elfs have hidden. On top of the tree is always the favorate. I have planned for chippy and bell to bring a few activities and a Xmas dvd each on Xmas eve. They loved it last year when they got Christmas sweets like the reindeer malteeser things

First time this year. some Ideas so far.

bringing advent calendars
making gingerbread house
making paper chains
decorating her room
hiding in the tree

Ive loads more ideas !!. DD1 loves art and craft , baking so many ideas are based around that!

See I'm wondering if I'm trying to plan to do too much as planning an activity advent as well and the notes for that will be in our fabric calander so it needs to be something different for the elf.

Ours arrive December 1st. I'm not sure what we will do but probably some old favourites like toilet papering the tree and wrapping up all of the boxes in their school lunches.

we do but i'm not sure what they will be doing yet LOL.
Kind of regret starting it as i'm so busy atm haha.

We do! I don't know who loves him more , me or dd!

he comes December 1st and brings her advent calendar and leaves Xmas eve and leaves her Xmas eve box

I tend to plan so I know if I need anything or if I'm tired then I don't have to think ad hoc.

last year he;
put ketchup up the kitchen tiles
had a tea party with the barbies
put toilet roll round the tree
made paper snow flakes
ate her cereal

this year she's 4 so I can be more adventurous so I plan to do more craft bits, turn milk green, thinking of a north pole breakfast too and he will make a snowman on our door out of coloured paper

last year she loved planting "magic seeds" (tic tacs) in a bowl of sugar and they'd grown into candy canes when she had woke up!

xx

I am looking to do this for the first time this year so need to buy the book and elf. Can anyone recommend where to buy from?

We do. Lucas is so excited but I haven't even thought about it yet! :dohh: Normally I have a whole schedule planned out by now.
I like to buy little props and have him doing fun things so we have stuff like tiny bowling set, tiny TV and Sky remote, tiny bath, tiny easel and canvas. One year he got sick and had a bed made from a gift box with a tiny medicine bottle.
This year there seems to be loads of stuff about for the elves, I think the shops here have just started catching up. The Card Factory has great stuff. I got a little Elf advent calendar there the other day and have my eye on a little mail box set.

Here's some of the things we've done previous years...

I got mine from eBay, although I didn't bother with the book and just wrote a letter to my dd to explain what he did/was from Santa.

They're so cheap to buy off eBay as just the dolls, think mine was like £3 but if you buy the book and things then you're looking at like £15 and they won't need the book reading every year xx

brilliant!! I just wrote this down to do with dd.

Last year ds wasn't quite 2 so we had fun but didnt do it everyday.
This year at nearly 3 he understands it a lot so will be going all out!!

We do things like elf tried wrapping presents and got tangled in the paper n selotape.
Was found upside down in the triffle I made the night before (that was actually my husband to make me laugh :haha:)
The elf ate cereal.
We have a reindeer statue which the elf sits on throughout the month.
We have an elf door too which last year ds would go and knock on to see if anyone would come out!
On christmas eve elfie leaves and gives ds his Christmas eve box to say thank you for the fun time and takes the special key (and notes of good/bad boy) back to santa.

This year i have made a cape to hang like a superhero.
Found mini candy canes in the pound shop.
Got mini pegs to hang elfies clothes when he got them wet :haha:
Will make green milk.
Have him hide in various places around our livingroom.

Still thinking of more to do but its going to be much more fun this year.
In all honesty its def a fun thing for the parents instead of the kids. Dh and I have a lot of fun with it n ds just wakes up finding him in odd places lol

Oh and he will arrive this weekend the same night as we put the Christmas tree up.
