Smile that's lovely :).... There's something special about a real tree! We've had a fake since the kids were born and waiting a few yrs before getting one again. I love the smell :)

Here's ours, playpen and all, haha

This is our tree. It is a real 9 foot tree. Sadly not the best decorated as ten minutes after it was finished being decorated it fell over :nope: it is now tied to the curtain pole, if it goes again its out the window :haha:

This made me laugh; not funny, I know, but sometimes it kind of is after the fact. Reminds me of when DH and I were dating. My mom asked him to get the tree down from the attic of the barn. He was pushing it through the opening, and then fell out with it. At the time I was horrified, afraid he really hurt himself, but after he stood up and said he was okay, and we saw the smashed tree, we all couldn't stop laughing at the craziness of it. That poor tree was a mess, there was no fixing it properly after being smashed that much, lol!

Here's ours x

I'm worried now! This is the 2nd pic on here which is blocked off to toddlers! I have a 14 month old, I haven't even thought about blocking our tree off when we put it up! Am I being niave?!.... Oh, also, where did you get the reindeer wall hanging from? :)

Where did you get your bunting from? It's fab :)

Ebay and it was a bargain - £4.99 for a 10ft a length! I got two and sewed them together in the middle to make one long length (I'm sure she'd have done it for me but I wasn't sure where I was hanging it). It's really good quality, very lightweight so easy to hang but doesn't curl up or anything. And it came within a couple of days. I got the christmas trees design x

ETA: here's some better photos - I added the bows to hide the pins, they're from the range x

I think it depends on the child....ha ha! Tom is a nightmare, he's into everything and I am certain he would pull the thing down trying to grab at the baubles :dohh: But he's crazy anyway and spends most of the day pulling things out of cupboards and draws and even the bin! Where Chloe on the other hand was never like that and never went near the tree so I don't think we ever had to gate it off for her.

The Reindeer is from John Lewis but ts a couple of years old now. I've seen a similar one though on their website I think.

Thanks, will take a look :)

Come to think of it, I never had to block it with my eldest, who's 5 now. But he sounds similar to your dd. He never went near it, except to steal chocs haha! My dd is a whole different story! I never needed cupboard locks with eldest, but I do for dd

This is mine! I spent ages taking the tinsel on and off... Always love the idea but always end up wanting to throw the bloody thing out the window by the time I'm halfway through :haha:

Can't really see the decorations in the pics either :dohh:

Haha, I think it just depends on the kid too :) As it is, Roxy has been sticking her hands through the bars of the playpen and pulling the baubles off :dohh::haha:
