Anyone with chubby children have a problem getting wellies to fit? Ds was always to buy wellies for. He had big feet for his age so the wellies were longer in height and because he was so chunky I could never get wellies that fit him. Thought it would be easier with dd, she is chunky but no where near as big as ds was at that age, plus wears lots of leggings and tights so they don't have to fit over jeans etc. Bought her a pair last night and they kind of fit but not properly.

Surely I'm not the only one who needs wellies for a bigger child, she's not off the charts or anything, think she's about 71st centile now. Anyone recommend somewhere good to buy them. Or am I really the only one lol.

I have the opposite problem, my son is so skinny that his keep falling off if I pick him up! And they are pretty much up to his knees... Not sure if that is normal. I bought them big to fit later but I didn't think they would be so big!

Aren't kids clothes/shoes sizes funny. I have the opposite and all Pennys boots/wellies are too big in the leg for her and slip off. I have to put jeans and thick socks on. She isn't petite either!

Dominic is chubby and has a G width in his feet. He had Hunter wellies so far and those fit fine. Now he has JojoMamanBebe ones (cause they have dinosaurs on them lol) and they fit too. I think both brands would have been too wide in the leg if he wasn't wearing thick socks and trousers folded in as well. For Sebastian, who is slim and has narrow feet they came off sometimes if I didn't scrunch up his trouser legs a bit untidily to hold them, if that makes sense.

Jojo Maman Bebe and Joules make wellies to be worn with welly socks so they're a bit wider.

Hunters here, last year we got a pair from Clark's that were £18 but had adjustable leg room

Thanks. I did look at some hunter wellies and thought they looked shorter so would probably fit better. Didn't really want to pay that much for wellies though. Trust me to have awkward children.

I've seen junior hunters on offer somewhere. Will have a think.

Ella has Clarks doodles wellies. She isnt particularly chunky, but she hasnt got skinny legs either and these go on her fine, and her leggings always go inside the wellies easily too. Maybe they would fit?

Totally have this problem! My daughter was easy to buy for.. She's a skinny minnie so wellies fit perfectly and a pair of wellie socks ensure they don't slip off.

My son is a different matter.. Tried lots of different shops, no wellies will go over his chubby ankles. I'm gonna check out the Hunters too. X

My DD is pretty chubby and Hunter boots fit her fine. Maybe have a look on ebay, they'll be a lot cheaper second hand.

If it helps at all, my son has these boots from Carters (the ones that I said fall off of him).

I know it's not as available in the UK though, sorry.
