I'm new to cloth diapers, so have a quick question. Can I use shout stain remover on cloth diapers? Or is that just a big no no? Thought I'd use it to help remove stains from dirty diapers. Its dye free and fragrance free..

Thanks!

Honestly, I'm really not sure BUT I know you can sun them and that will remove stains. I've been really lucky and almost none of my 100+ diapers have stained, so various types of insides and they really never stain. But you can do your normal wash cycle and then lay them in the sun still wet and that will help take the stains out. Also be sure you are doing enough rinsing to help get everything out

Every now and again I put a tiny bit of Vanish stain remover. About a teaspoon, if that.

But as Mommyof3 said, drying in the sun is the best for removing stains. Unfortunately, in the UK we have major lack of the sun!

Just seen the post was duplicated so copying my reply from the other one:

You can if you have to but you need to make sure it is all properly washed out - I always do a normal nappy wash again after one with stain remover and extra rinses. You'd be better spot treating stains than putting it through the whole wash too.

Really though, I don't see the point. Nappies are there to collect poo and you can pretty much guarantee that if you spend time removing stains from the inside, as soon as you put that nappy back on it will be pooed it! The only time I remove stains is when they're on the outside and haven't shifted after a couple of washes (many stains will fade in time, especially if hung in natural light, anyway) or if I'm selling the nappies.

Sorry, i didn't realize it duplicated my post! Thanks guys. We've been lacking sun here in north Carolina for about a week now. :/ ill probably only use it then if I'm selling them and really want them to be in pristine condition.

Thanks for the replies!

Ecover has a good oxygen stain remover I think you can use on diapers.

Any daylight will work, even moonlight. I often hang nappies in the window in the UK winter - it's slower than outside in summer but it still works.
