Cleaning products?

I cleaned multiple times when I was pregnant (mainly the bathroom) and I used comet, windex, etc. I was just very careful to stay away from fumes as much as possible and to wash my hands thoroughly after. I'm sure you're perfectly fine. :)

Thaaaanks! I've never met you before but I'm Erin, 13 weeks +3. And believe me, I'm a worrier. I worry about, just about oh ya know, everything. Everyone on here always makes me feel much better! So, thanks again. :)

Thanks! Do you happen to know what the risks are? Like could it cause a miscarriage or would it be like birth defects? Cause I'm sure one time isn't going to give my baby birth defects. Right?

Probably potential birth defects I'd imagine, but honestly, I'm sure you're fine as long as you're not ingesting the chemicals and you don't spends hours every day with the cleaning products. I'd say limit it, but I highly doubt anything bad is going to happen! My LO came out perfectly fine. :)

Thaaanks! I've never talked to you before but I'm Erin and I'm 13+3 weeks. And I'm a worrier. I worry about just about everything possible. That's why I enjoy coming on bnb cause everyone makes me feel much better! So, thanks again darlin. :)

No worries, and nope we haven't talked personally but I've seen you around! (Lately I haven't had time to post much, haha.) I'm Carissa, 20, and my son is (almost) 3 months. :) If you have questions you're always welcome to mail me!

Hi :) Popping in from the first tri. I always cleaned in my pregnancies. I even painted (of course I used the cleaning supplied and paint that was safe during pregnancy!) and everything turned out fine. I wouldn't worry. Like one poster said, stay away from bleach and one other thing you should definitely do is be careful to NOT mix any cleaning supplies. Like if you're using bleach in the bathroom, don't go ahead and use another cleaning supply right after it because the fumes being mixed together can really make you sick. And you shouldn't use anything without the windows being open. And yes vacuuming is perfectly fine as long as your body feels up to moving around. :)

Thank you. :) the only problem is, I can't open my Windows cause they get stuck and I really have to struggle with them, and I had worried once before about that. So I didn't do that. But I did have the exhaust fan in the bathroom going, and I eventually turned on the stove top fan. That's the only place I used it besides one little section of 'tile' right near my door. Still okay?

Honestly.. I'm on my third child and have never avoided any cleaning products. I still have to bleach my floors and surfaces every week at least, I just make sure there's a window or two open. Bleach would probably be the only one to watch. Oh and oven cleaner, I've read you should avoid that if pregnant. Anything else is perfectly okay. :) good job too, OH would never do all the cleaning haha.

Thank you! I called my doctors office today. And the nurse I talked to said, it was fine I even told her about my Windows and everything, and she said it was fine there's nothing toxic in it as long as I'm not smelling it like all day every day. And I just walked in and smelt a little still so, i just got my oh to open the window for me. So, hopefully its all good. :)

I was cleaning my house, and I vaccumed, which Idk if I'm supposed to do, but also I used the generic brand of pinesol and the generic brand of windex. I looked it up but there was no definite answer. I don't want to hurt my baby. Does anyone have any info on the use of these products during pregnancy?

Just wear gloves to protect your hands and if there is fumes open the windows ..

you are fine hun :)
