Clomid and progesterone question

Hi Ladies, I'm a newby here.

I was wondering if anyone was in a similar situation. I had taken a course of clomid 50mg. My gynae did an ultrasound on CD11 which showed 5 immature follicles and 2 mature(1@16mm and 1@24mm) Has anyone had twins after seeing similar results?

The next question I have is: Doc says he is concerned that because my cycles have been so long, that it could be because my progesterone level drops too low at the end of my cycle when an egg could have been fertilized causing a miscarriage. He wants to check my progesterone levels if a HPT is positive on CD30. Has anyone ever heard of that and does that increase my chances of miscarriage throughout a pregnancy?

Thank you and looking forward to your advice:thumbup:

I have very low progesterone and need to take a suppository throughout the 1st trimester. I've had 2 chemicals (not trying to scare you, as not everyone will be the same). I have blood work scheduled 2 weeks after O and if it is positive, I will continue the progesterone. They recently increased my dose, so hope that helps with implantation this time. Feel free to PM me if you need more info. Good luck! xx

I also used progesterone when on clomid cycles. Would take from third day after O until period. Since I didn't know about progesterone before I had no clue but have since learned a lot of women take it in their first trimester. Good luck!

TBH... Yes, low progesterone does increase the chances of a miscarriage. If it drops low enough, it's almost inevitable. HOWEVER! It's a very easy fix. If you supplement progesterone after O, no worries. So, if you are found to have it... you can easily fix it! :hugs:

Bizybee, I hope you get your BFP. Please let me know how it goes. I have to do a preggy test on Wed and if it is positive I will go in for him to check my progesterone level and take it from there.

Reallyready, does your doc know why it hasn't yet taken because it sounds like you've gone through this a couple of times?

Thanks Megg33K. That does put my mind at ease. I was thinking if you have a problem in the early stages, you have a problem throughout and that's the last thing I want

Baby dust to you all:dust:

Even if your progesterone is low, you'd still only need to take it through week 10. After that, the placenta begins making the hormones for the growing fetus! So, it's not even a long fix... just about 2.5 months before the little bean can do it on his or her own! No worries!
