Clomid - Cycle buddy for April - May 2010!!

Hi ladies,

I am looking for a cycle buddy to easy my pain during the first 14 days and then horrible 2ww!!!!!!!

My DH and I have been TTC for 4 years now....very long time (unexplained infertility). We have done 3 IUI's (all unsuccessful) and 1 IVF which has resulted in chemical pregnancy, almost 2 years ago. As all of you can imagine this has been a very painful experience that has tested me in every single way. Not to mention, being the only one among many friends who are getting pregnant on their 1st try!!!! How?!?!?!

Anyhow, this past January we were finally at peace with not having a baby, only to find out that we were pregnant!!!! We were ecstatic, and then of course we miscarried a week later. I felt so lonely. And to make it worst, my best friend also found out she was pregnant(we would've been 6 days apart)and still is. Life is just not fair.

Anyhow, my DH and I are thinking about doing another IVF in summer, but in the mean time we decided to give Clomid a chance. I heard that it has worked for so many people, so i said "why not"....we have nothing to loose.

So here I am, cycle day 5. I started taking Clomid on day 3 - 7, 50 mg. I ovulate regularly, but this might just give me a boost that I need. ( I hope)

Hey, I am due to start taking clomid on days 2-6 of my cycle at present I am waiting for the Provera to kick in and bring AF before I can start although I think CD 1 may well be tomorrow. I am desperate to try the Clomid and get to the next stage.

How come you have not had Clomid prescribed before now? x

Hi there,

At first I thought that only girls who don't ovulate use Clomid, but after my friend got her bfp on it, I decided to give it a try. She wasn't ovulating on her own though. Anyway, my RE said that it really wouldn't increase my chance by much, so he never suggested.

About 2 yrs ago, when we did all the analysis, my DH sperm had lower then normal morphology. Actually when we did IVF (out of 12 eggs, 9 we did ICSI, and with 3 we wanted to fertilize "naturally"). Well, none of these 3 fertilized, so my RE said that my DH's sperm wasn't shaped properly. But that was 2 years ago and since my DH has taken many vitamins. Also 2 years ago we were under a lot of stress but now things are a lot different. I also think we got pregnant naturally because we are just in a different place right now.....

So anyway, after a lot of research I decided to ask for Clomid. I am really not sure if it will work (probably not), but we have nothing to loose.

How long have you been TTC??? Have you tried Clomid before?

Well you never know. Anything is worth a try. I have PCOS and do not have seem to have cycles at all. I came off the contraceptive pill in April 2008 and not had a natural period in that time. So technically we have been trying for 2 years but with no ovulation had no success. This is my first time on Clomid am scared to death it wont work although my FS seemed to think it would work. x

i have only one tube and 2 ovarys and my consultont put me on it even thow i ovulat on my own to get more eggs xx

Am on my 2nd cycle of clomid 50gms and am taking it cd2-6... Today is cd5 for me.. My doc prescribed clomid for anovoulation ( no ovoulation) last month ie. On my 1st cycle I did ovoulate as blood test on cd21 confirmed it... As u said there's nothing wrong in trying all the possible ways.. Coz atlast all we need is a healthy baby..

NINA Sorry to hear about all your dificulties ttc-it is so heartbreaking for all of us. I have only been trying for one year and have never been pregnant so i cant even imagine what you have gone through.
mrs chambers: i agree I cant wait to start clomid!! i am trying not to get too excited, however I am trying to be positive!!

I will also soon be starting clomid. I am on CD 17 and just waiting for af to arrive, or i will start provera on cd 30 to make it arrive! I have 21 day labs next monday. Once af arrives I will be taking clomid 50 mg days 5-9. I was prescribed clomid as my oh and i have been ttc for 1 year with no luck. my labs are normal as well as my hsg and my oh SA. however, i rarely ovulate, or maybe never ovulate i am not sure!! So hopefully i will ovulate on the clomid and everything else will do its job!!

Good luck Nina....I pray it works for you. I tried my first cycle of clomid in March. It wasn't successful....but I will be trying again next cycle (decided to give myself a 2 cycle break). Even though I'm not on it at the moment, I would still love to be your buddy through this cycle.

Hey Caz....it's exactly the same thing with me. I have one tube, two ovaries and ovulate on my own. I wish you the very best of luck! My cycle 2 will probably be at the end of May.

I am on my second cycle of clomid last month they had me on 100mg this month 50 I took it days 3-7 he also had me take an ovidrel shot, we are hoping it works this month. If AF doesn't come I will test on May 7.

Anyhow, last month was her first try on clomid 50 mg and she just got her BFP!!!! On the first try!!!! So head up and it just might happen to you as well!!!

cuz&bob - are you on clomid right now?? I see that you have tried it few times....did you have any side effects?

faithspatience - I am also on cd6 today. I am taking clomid 50 mg days 3-7. So by tomorrow night I am done. I am also taking primrose oil, prenatal vitamins and I was told by my RE that starting day 10 to ovulation - I should take Robitussin (with gauifensin as the only ingredian) as it might help with ewcm during ovulation.

AFM - I am on day 6 and hoping that this month I'll have my regular ovulation around 14 day of my cycle. Without meds I O every month around day 12-15.According to blood tests and all the other tests everything is fine (with me and DH), so I am really not getting why I can't get pregnant. It's been 4 long years. It's really frustrating.......maybe clomid might do the trick.... Just maybe.

Are you girls experiencing any side effects??? As for me, so far nothing (except increased lobido : ) - can't really complain.

yes hun i take it 2_6 i no i only have one tube so its a lot harder i had a mc 1st cycle so i hope this month i get my bfp i am also useing preseed this month xx

I was dx with PCOS in Feb and was put on metformin 850mg 2x daily. I showed some improvement in my ovaries and my RE put me on my first cycle of clomid (100mg) this month CD3-7 went for a scan CD12 which showed I had 1 follicle on my left ovary 11mm (not quite ready to ovulate) so my RE than put me on 150mg clomid CD12-16. I went back CD17 for another scan which showed 2 follicles on my left ovary and 1 on my right ovary all measuring over 23mm...He than gave me a novarel injection and told me to start BDing everyother day starting the next day. I am now 5dpo and this tww is going by so slow. I really hope this worked. My DH and I have been ttc for 3 years.

As for side effects Nina, I did have a lot of pg like symptoms.....especially the metallic mouth and loss of appetite. Oh, and the increased libido as well . I pray you get your Nina!!!

I'll probably be back on clomid again when my next cycle starts at the end of the month. 100mg worked perfectly for me last time, so I don't see my Doctor ramping up the volume. I pray we are all blessed with those babies we are yearning for!!
