Heya I am not sure if anyone can help. A quick background I am waiting to go back to the hospital this month to be put on clomid and will be phoning the hospital tomorrow to chase my appointment.

I just wondered as I am not ovulating and not having periods at all when will I be able to actually start clomid? Will they give me provera to start a period and go from there?

How log does it take provera to work and what CD do you take clomid and how long for etc?

I don't know how it all works xx

Hi there good luck! They will definately give you the provera, different consultants give a different amount of it. varies between 5,7 & 10days worth. After stopping the provera it can take anything from 2-10 days for a withdrawel bleed.

Clomid can then be taken either CD 2-6 or 3-7 and sometimes even 5-9 but again this will depend on your consultant. I think the most popular is 2-6 esp when you don't ovulate alone. Usually you would then be booked in for a 21 day progesterone test which is taken 7 days after ovulation to check if the clomid actually made you ovulate... Its handy to do charting and temps as you can see if you did ov and then count 7 days for your blood test. Alternatively they book it in for day 21 as the average day for ovulation is CD14 but obviously ths is not a 100% accurate result.

Hope this helps!! Good luck on your journey!!

Thanks for the reply. That has answered all my questions and is very helpful.

I managed to get my appointment confirmed this morning and it is 10th sept which is my birthday so fingers crossed I do get the provera and clomid and can start my journey.

X

Fx for you hun, my advice would be to really 'demand' them both as sometimes they can be a bit blase until you really say how much you need it! GL FX xx

Ok thanks for that. The dr last time did say when all the tests I have had come back with no problems (they have) and my hubby sperm test is fine (test is tomorrow but not expecting a problem) they would put me on clomid but the hospital I am going to this time is in a different location (same hospital arranging it but have a few locations can have appointments at) so worried they may try and fob me off.

It has been over 2 years trying now though so hopefully not x

FX just don't accept no for an answer hun !! Let me know how u get on xx
